I registered Republican after the disgraceful 2012 election so that I could vote in the primaries in 2016. Glad I did, too, because it gave me the opportunity to help President Trump (PBUH) clinch the nomination.

Despite the party registration, though, I do not self-identify as a Republican.
And now that we don't have free and fair elections anymore, I may stop volunteering as a poll worker.

Or vote at all.

Why bother.  At least at a national level.

In 2016, I voted for the second time.

Never again.

Read somewhere that Bernie acknowledged that ending war in Afghanistan was Trump's agenda - that Biden is just cashing in on Trump's work.

I think Bernie is absolutely anti-establishment, and willing to stand against the tide. He has agendas I do not agree with - but I would be just as interested in seeing *him* get a shot at tipping the boat as Trump got - just to ride the waves.

I seriously don't care HOW we run the ship aground. Let's either beach the bitch or change the course.

He did mention it once or twice. I think he started reducing our presence early on in his term ( didnt want to just flip a switch and leave a vacuum ). But with all the nonsense going on it didn't get much air-time, if any.

Don't trust Bernie.. hes not our friend.  He would still steer us into the abyss, just under a different flag. But abyss it still is.

Oh, I don't trust Bernie.

But neither do the Democrats. From the beginning with Trump I said there were 3 possibilities (I missed the forth one, which is how it actually played out, at present.)

1: He would actually change the system and improve things - if his supporters were right.

2: He would cause the collapse of the system - causing complete and utter chaos - reducing us to a point where we could start over.

3: He would prove to just be another bullshit politician taking care of himself and his own special interests (although the Left likes to claim this is what happened, it was the furthest from this of any Administration in my life, including Reagan's.)

It turned out that it was a little of both 1 and 2 - but ultimately, it wasn't enough of either, and the status quo was able to reassert itself, possibly even more strongly than *before* his election. The only thing is that Trump is still out there, still trying to throw monkey wrenches into the status quo - and this could just be a lull before the storm.

Everyone on the Left clamors for change. Everyone on the Right clamors for change. But when change started happening and it looked comfortable - lots of people on both sides went, "Woah! Let's slow down this ship. We don't want THAT kind of change!"

Everyone wants radical change without radical disruption of the comfort of their lifestyle. That isn't actually wanting *change* - that is wanting to bitch about things and hoping that they'll listen and make it more like you would prefer it, without causing you any personal discomfort or sacrifice.

I like that option - but I'm kinda interested in seeing the whole thing burn to the ground so we can rebuild it. So, in the same way that I think Trump could achieve goals #1 and #2, I think Bernie could too. Because he is disruptive to the status quo.

Obama reduced our presence in Afghanistan. He relied on less precise drone strikes that causes more collateral damage to innocent populations. I'm actually OK with that as a strategy in war. If we can minimize our losses while maximizing effects that demoralize our target - it isn't an unsound strategy. The justness of our presence in that conflict is a matter that is open to debate - but if we're in a fight and we can take measures to win it, we should, regardless of if the fight is justified or not.

But Trump moved to *end* the war.

And I think Bernie would have, too.

I dont think he *caused* #2. I think it was the reaction of the establishment ( both sides ) that did.

He was really fighting for #1,  they forced #2 onto us all as he was not strong enough to stop it.

And i totally agree, he was clearly not #3.  His only special interest was the citizenry of this country

Guess Mr Pillow dude is no better than the rest of them. Sure, its his house, his rules, just dont wave the 'free speech' banner at us to get attention, then start listing things you cant say. Free speech means people get say things you dont like, or agree with.

I am reading, from the comments, that the flag is one-sides, which severely limits its ability to tell people to go fuck themselves.

Oh, on point 2, I mean, when he was elected, when people started losing their minds with TDS...

They were often the same people in my circles, the "revolutionaries", the "punks" the "anti-establishment reactionaries," who had been demanding we tear the system down for decades.

And by 2020 when it was all collapsing around them, they were ALL in a panic.

"When I said we needed to tear down the system - I meant in a much less DISRUPTIVE way. One where I can still buy toilet paper at the grocery store and drive around downtown Portland without being harassed into proclaiming my allegiance with BLM. This is getting *ridiculous*!"

Evidently no one told them that the revolution would most likely include riot gear and tear gas. They thought it would happen from the comfort of the desk in their office through posts they made on Twitter and Facebook.
