Hit post to fast :(

Why would you expect them to sit on the same plane like the commoners do? Covid remember.. :)

As for the elites ... they missed an opportunity. The ones coming from the same continent could have "carpooled". They didn't even have to fly commercial; they could have chartered the most luxury plane they could find, as long as they filled it up. Then they could have had a big media circus showing how they are all flying together becausse they care about the environment.

But they didn't, because actually doing something about the environment is for the plebes, not for them.

You don't understand... it is part of the perks for the sacrifices they make for us.

And they need it, to improve society. It is just that not EVERYONE needs it. Only the special people who matter.

Which doesn't include you.

Yes. A bus that can go around the world. Riding along the bottom of the ocean floor when necessary.

For fun, we should drop Mt. Everest into the Mariana Trench.

Here in PRNY, they just passed a new regulation prohibiting the installation of gas, propane, and heating oil into new homes. No gas stoves, no gas or oil heat, everything has to be electric.

While I'm all in for saving energy, once again I have to call into question whether the government has any business forcing the energy market to operate a certain way (hint: it doesn't). And just like the heavy-handed tactics that are trying to force everyone into electric cars over the next decade, they are doing *nothing* to address the added burden on the electric grid.
At a time when everyone starts depending on electricity more than ever for heating, cooking, and transportation, there could be rolling blackouts.

We're being regulated into the stone age.

If they really care about carbon (hint: they don't) they ought to be approving lots and lots of clean, safe, reliable nuclear energy plants. TEven the worst person in the world agrees on that.

They are trying this same bullshit in Germany but it seems like they will
have to backtrack on this because there currently are no alternatives.
They are shutting down nuclear and coal and they are expecting to provide
energy to heat homes and fuel an industrial nation.... not to mention
everyone is supposed to have electric cars, charged with what electricity
exactly? Meanwhile Germany is buying electricity from France (with
nuclear reactors right on our borders lol) and Poland with their coal
plants.

It's not about "saving the earth", or even planning ahead for adequate energy supply, its about stamping down the commoners and building a infrastructure for the elite for after we are gone and amount of cheap labor is vastly reduced..  They know that you will mostly starve, freeze, and die.  That is the plan. Earth depopulation, using the un-worthy, the expendable. ( not to save the earth, but instead to increase their power )

And of course the serfs that go along with it waving their signs, are just too stupid to realize they are effectively human shields, supporting their own destruction.

That seems a common trned with the French. They have lots of nuKlear plants by the borders.

They are trying to press heat pumps as an alrernative over here, but no legal preasure *yet*. The problem is that heat pumps are only good in a tight margin of temperatures: if it is too cold outside the evaporator will freeze and the whole thing will suck.

I have money enough and I think currencies in my country's sphere of influence are gonna crash so I have invested in some diversification. Right now I have an oil boiler, some electric heating, and a fireplace. If preasure goes really bad I will get a wood boiler to replace the oil boiler because you can make the wood boiler work with any junk that burns even after distributions of liquid fuels become restricted.

Ground source heat pumps (which the marketing incorrectly calls "geothermal") is quite nice and can run year round, since the underground temperature below the frost line tends to stay the same all year long, and it's a perfect temperature for the outdoor side of a heat pump.

Unfortunately it's hella expensive to install.

Air source heat pumps are getting better all the time; the newest ones can run in some rather cold weather. I daresay it's "enough" for the more temperate zones. Where there are hard freezes, some sort of auxiliary heat is still going to be needed.

Honestly I think nuclear is still going to win in the long term. Even the most deserving-to-die elite of all time, one Mr. Bill Hitler Gates, thinks that nuclear is the right way to go. Solar and wind will always be a small part of the mix but they will never be able to handle the baseline load.

Meanwhile in Canada they still call their electric service "hydro" as if that were the exclusive source of power. Canadians are so funny. :)

Meanwhile, the people running New York City are now coming down hard on the only reason left why anyone would want to be there:

They're demanding that coal and wood fired pizza shops cut their "carbon emissions" by 75 percent. According to pizzeria owners, the new targets require installing scrubbers that basically cancel out the benefits of cooking pizza that way. Not to mention the significant costs, both initial and ongoing, of installing and maintaining that type of equipment.

And for what? Even if you believe in climate alarmism, the impact of a few pizza ovens is insignificant compared to what Shenzhen is belching out every day.
