Apparently all of the source code to the Windows operating system now resides in a Git repository. So not only does Visual Studio support Git directly, but Microsoft is actually using Git internally now.

I can confirm that they have integrated git into Visual Studio. Although, I still prefer to use TortoiseGit.

Just as every web browser other than lynx/links is infected with irredeemable cancer, every OS is starting to piss me off as much as Windows. In a desperate move of nostalgia, I have purchased Arca Noae 5.0. Successful VM installation, still wrangling with bare metal.

I always include w3m in the lynx/links family. In the event I become independently wealthy, I plan to fund lynx 3.0 that can fully deal with the modern cancerweb. At the same time, I use "retro" tech like NNTP and Gopher to

avoid the web as much as possible (thankfully RSS is still a thing) and follow promising new tech like Urbit that plans on ditching not just the web, but as much of the Internet as possible.

You know what really grinds my gears? When I move a window around on the screen, and Windows decides that what I *really* wanted was for every other window to disappear, so it minimizes everything except the window I'm moving.

So on a whim this afternoon I decided to try Outlook. Now keep in mind, as we've always known, people buy Outlook because it's the only thing that works quite right with Exchange, and people buy Exchange because it's the only thing that works quite right with Outlook, and people who do both are stupid. But this is Microsoft Outlook running on Microsoft Windows connected to Microsoft Exchange -- no silly tricks here. All are the latest version.

IT DOESN'T FUCKING WORK.

It just sat there for hours, with some folders partially populated, others (such as my INBOX) not populated at all. If I try to send a message it tells me I have to configure an account first (and if I give it the same account again, it still does the same thing). I got it to work by turning off cached mode, but it's slower than molasses in January.

THIS is the gold standard in corporate email and collaboration?

You must have a super shitty Exchange server...... Outlook's not perfect by any stretch, but I can't say I've encountered such issues.

But if you started out with IMAP and switched to MAPI, it may have some strange issues. The underlying structure is a bit different. I encountered that receently.

Grab the window you were just moving (and shook, hence minimizing everything else) and shake it again. All the other windows will magically reappear.

Probably some legacy code from their attempts at unifying desktop and mobile environment.
