hello again
You might have forgot
The journey ends
You tied your knots
And you made your friends
You left the scene
Without a trace
One hand on the ground
One hand in space

Hi.

I am connecting through the i2p telnet interface. It works great. Very usable.

How is everyone doing around here?

Howdy Shazam. We're still here. Still looking for ways to sabotage IG's snow blower and/or other outdoor equipment.

Hard to believe he has any outdoor equipment left, after all these years of sabotage.

"You've done well, Aahz," the voice of IG called. "Your Burmese tiger pit has claimed one of my best pressure washers. Again you score. I think, Mr. Aahz, I'll see what you can do against my whole pack. I'm going home for a rest now. Thank you for a most amusing evening."

Testing the Uncensored http interface from the i2p network. It works, but WHYYYY DOES IT REQUIRE JAVASCRIP??? :(((

Just joking, as long as there is an alternative to http, the i2p crowd will like it. Keep the good work going.

Heh. No apologies for that. We need a desktop-like experience for the people who use Citadel as a groupware/collaboration platform. I suspect the I2P crowd is going to prefer the telnet experience anyway. If we become popular with that crowd, of course, more effort will go into making accommodations for that use case (perhaps a "light" web UI for forums only, for example).

Too bad I am out of the loop now the thing is working. I'll take toad's word that it works.

If that is the case, the next thing to do is to register a "domain" in i2p for thservices.

Good morning. Nice to see everyone meandering around here. I think IG needs some whiskey. Perhaps some Old Smokey?

I never visit Lobby so I missed this - i just posted in IGNET.

After a long absence I just noticed Citadel 929 is out,

wanting to test Citadel behind an i2pd node - are you using i2p normal ?

I have played  lot with i2pd and running Citadel  behind it seemed like it might be fun.

cheers

Yes, we are currently experimenting with making Uncensored available over the I2P anonymous network. You can connect to it right now. Telnet seems to be preferred over HTTP by that community, because for some reason they seem to frown upon web sites which use javascript. I've also made the Citadel client protocol available over the I2P network, which works extremely well because the protocol was designed to run over slow laggy networks. Here are the public tunnel keys:

telnet: oavgsai6nkclfjwteblv7afbl3oo4gh5viuh4tlfk5mgrh7e7pgq.b32.i2p:23
http: 6i5slupgevsrbuvf7nosznunbzrvgax764gakfmlb73vihd3luna.b32.i2p:80
client: vt6gdl6i5isbfpfyiml53bcaa2b2cvmjxvat4dh6fkaa6hfofkza.b32.i2p:504

Users logging in from across the I2P network will appear in the "Who is online" screen as if they were logging in from a host called "sync.citadel.org" (because that's where our I2P router is).

The issue with Javascript is that if Hitler seizes your server, he could replace your regular javascript code and inject some evil payload in it, designed to deanon people. And that is if I believe you are not Hitler himself already.

I suppose if this experiment shows some promise, I could whack together a web client that only exposes the message boards and private mail, ignores the groupware type rooms, and doesn't use javascript. Does the I2P community also frown upon the use of cookies?

Cookies are fine I guess. Specially with hot milk.

What's very weird is that we're seeing an unusual amount of activity from new users today, but it's *not* coming from I2P.
