You mean the kind of things GUI was designed for? :) Yeah, that works fine.
But the next time you get work done on your car, ask your mechanic if he likes his mouse-driven computer better than the old Wyse 60 with the grease-covered rubber membrane over the keyboard that he used to have. You'll get the same answer every time.

Automation is the same way. Simplify at a cost. You want to automate a task, well, then you need to pay the flexibility price.
Same as the old quality, speed, price trade off.
The GUI is just trading speed for the loss of flexibility.
Add some real butter and some garlic. Guaranteed it'll be good. Mainly because
anything is good with butter and garlic.

Whoever named them 'butterflies' is a fucking liar.
In Norway we call them "Sommerfugler". Translated: "Summer birds".
Similarly, we have a more descriptive name for daffodils: "Easter lilies".
The Swedes have a nice name for "Spectacles". Translated: "Glass eyes".
Heh... in English, 'glassy eyed' describes the look on someone's face when they're clearly awake, but not particularly aware of their surroundings (either due to stupidity, a blow to the head, or something akin to religious fundamentalism).
Sorry... I wrote 'fundamentalism', but I meant to write 'extremism'.
I'm not a fan of religious fundamentalism, as I think it's just one step away from religious extremism, but ... it is a step away from it, and should be respected as such.
"Some of my best friends are fundamentalist whackjobs" ;)
Tee hee. I'll never get it. One of the kids I went to elementary school with... used to show up in 2nd grade and almost shout: "God hates rock & roll!" His parents put him up to that.
Actually his mom was kinda the nicest person in the world, in an almost annoying/saccharine way. But they definitely wanted to make converts out of his school friends.

Hey ... I resemble that remark :)
I consider myself to be a fundamentalist, but without all of the connotations that seem to come with that. It's easy to find someone who's gone over the line. When they claim that "God hates..." *anything* then they've gone beyond fundamentalism and into Crispy Critters Land. God is love, and love does not hate.
"God hates rock & roll!"
Yeah ... that. (( looks over at the electric guitar that I play in church ... loud ))
Yeah, generally, 'fundamentalist' seems to mean 'rigidly strict with exclusionary perspectives', rather than, 'breaking everything down to the base bits' as it should mean.

Does God hate Rosie O'Donnell?

I was thinking 'literally-minded pinhead' ;)
Sincerely, I don't even understand how that could work for some of these guys.
Well... I write that... and then I think about it a bit more, and realize that quite a few people live with cognitive dissonance without realizing it, fully comfortable maintaining a position of obvious contradiction without concern for establishing a firm philosophical foundation.
I don't care for that, for myself. I want to work out anything like that so I know that my perception of reality isn't resting on a foundation of lies.
You'll have to take it up with God in respect to thoughts on your
guitar playing.
God loves a joyful noise [Psalm 98]. And that's about as much as can be said for my guitar skills.
