hm, when I was in MC Donalds / China I'd say the quality of the chicken burger was much worse than anticipated from european experiences.

I guess the set of "edible parts of the chicken" is about a magnitude of Alpeh0 larger than in europe/usa....

I can't stand chicken, and won't eat it. I find it... fowl.

Don't worry, fleeby, the batches that come from China will not likely be made of fowl.

My father pointed out an interesting food-related web site that reminded him of how we would mock our food (or television commercials, or pretty much anything else that allowed us to extract humor at its expense):

The Gallery of Regrettable Food

Yikes, let me go grab a couple cans of Cream-of-Sodium Soup so I can whip up some of those delectable treats!

The pictures reminded me of an article in a magazine I recently read: The recipies of Werner Fischer, who was a renown cook in the 60s in Germany. Among the highlights were Iguana Soup, Hedgehog, Bear feet and "Robbe im Teigmantel" kind of Baby Seal covered in dough. The images had the same ghastly color. Unfortunately, I can not find any of those on the interwebs, will have to purchase one of his cookbooks and scan them.

I love love love 'cream of mushroom' soup. I know it's evil, but it just tastes SO good.

I love cream of mushroom soup, as well...and it works so well for making sauces, etc.

Is it evil? I'll have to go get me some. Or just make some, I can't stand store bought soups. Other than mushrooms, what's actually IN them?

Sodium. Truckloads of sodium.

well, that's WHY I can't stand store bought soups.

This is why I generally make my own.  I know what's in them and I can restrict preservatives and sodium.

Down side is that they take longer than a 5min can to do cook up originally (but then are the same for reheats).
