Might be gross, but i'm sure its not 'bad' for you.  Lots of food is gross, but is still nutritious.  A lot of it is regional too.   Id never want to eat a crawdad, but people down south of me would not think twice.

Because that is the only *image* I could find of tomato spunk. It happens in red tomatoes all the time, too. And it's gross.

What you like to swallow is your own business - and I'm not judging you. But just because you like to guzzle tomato jizz - doesn't mean I'm on board with your lifestyle choices.

Lobsters are the cockroaches of the sea.  Eat scraps of food, have an exoskeleton, that is a cockroach.

I really don't like lobster... and I grew up in Maine.

Isn't moxie something kids and flappers had a lot of, back in the 20s?

moxie is tolerable. not bad, even. get the ice cream if you're ever at Frank's in Lisbon Falls.

Moxie is a New England regional thing.  I didn't know about it, I had a co-worker from Maine who let us try some.

Maine is like Upstate New York with Lobsters,  Clam Chowder, and Stephen King, right?

No, that would be Dr. Brown's black cherry soda. Which is awesome, by the way. And the only acceptable beverage to accompany a pastrami on rye with good mustard. (I love to add swiss cheese, but that's not available at a kosher deli.)

I've never tried Moxie. What I do remember is that in the 1969 Beard/Kenney parody "Bored of the Rings", their counterparts to Merry and Pippin were named Moxie and Pepsi. An excellent read, if you're into that sort of thing.

The good thing about being a New Yorker, is that you never have to worry about your tastes becoming a trend imitated all across the country.

It is kind of like being a fan of a team in Cleveland, and never having to worry about your town getting burned down celebrating a championship. ;)

You know... East Coast things! :D

Nearly all world cuisines were invented in New York City in the 1970s.

For example, last night we had Chinese take-out. That was invented in New York City in the 1970s. The Chinese from China loved it so much that they culturally appropriated it, sent it back in time, and built an entire nation's cuisine out of it.

Moxie, Pepsi and Spam.

Alas, said Goodgulf, you forgot to mention poor old Spam.

It's a classic. Required reading. In my household, we still probably make references to it, like, quarterly.
