I mean, that's only a matter of time. It's unrealistic to expect them to stagnate.
This may come off as Nurb432-level black pilled, but if Wwstern culture can't
stay ahead of it, it deserves to die off. We're below replacement rate, we've
destroyed the family unit, we celebrate depravity and promote destructive
lifestyles. If this is representative of Western values, it deserves to be
overtaken, in tbe Darwinian sense.

Nurb and you ought to meet a local famous writer I know. He has an opinion column at a journal and he pretty much wrote that once - albeit in a more elegant manner.

Western culture is woking itself to death in what Jim calls a "holiness spiral" but in his words, eventually you run out of apple carts to tip over. I don't know much about PC gaming because we're a Nintendo household, but I certainly wouldn't buy any of the nonsense you guys are talking about.

To be fair, the franchise isn't called The Legend of Link!

Heh. Yeah. Link did all the work and Zelda got all the glory. It was
very misandrist.
Everybody knows Epona was the real protagonist and she barely got any acknowledgement in the promotional material. Agro was also the protagonist in Shadow of the Colossus but at least she got enough spotlight. Developers said Agro was an actual main character XD

I am afraid I am going to have to eat my words. My friends and I have been playing the latter Zelda installment this weekend and so far the thing is definitively non-woke.
I have been playing an anti-gravity racer as of late with friends. It is called
BallisticNG and it it a love letter to the old Wipeout games.
The game is fucking brutal. Nothing less than a perfect flight will grant you a medal, and the AI is bloodthirty as fuck. If you crank it up to expert you will see your ship explode in flames so often it will become a meme or something.

By the way, at the risk of becoming an "out of my lawn" type, I will add that
modern youngsters are so soft it is cringeworthy. So many people online is
complaining this game is too hard or that some segments are "impossible".
No, this game is intended to be a hardcore challenge, but so far you can beat
the events if you care to try hard enough.
People no longer has any persistence for this stuff.

It didn't take long for game developers to figure out that it's more fun to win than it is to lose, and games started being designed to be beaten. Plus, the faster you can conplete a game, the sooner you run out and buy the next one or the DLC or whatever.

Call me crazy, but I think retrying a time trial 217 times because you are consistently falling 0.25 seconds short of the mark and you might do better next time is kind of exciting.
Yes, that is me. But I got platinum medal on that circuit, ok?

I'm with you, man. NetHack (the source of my nick, for those that don't know) was enjoyable to me for many many years exactly BECAUSE it was so hard. For a long time there was the pull of "ooh I made it one floor deeper last game, I wonder what's past that castle where I died??"

They don't make them like us anymore.
I would say I miss the games of old, except I keep playing them because I have retrostuff everywhere. My friends and I keep playing old stuff in our videogame orgies, but I will say that is mainly because the budget does not allow to purchase modern hardware for newer games.
What we are doing for the most part is playing PSX and Nintendo 64 era games and hacks. Hacks are great because you can keep playing different versions of the same old games forever.
Defender. Myst, space quest. Does that date me too much?
oh, any my old 'car racer' that was just the 'foot ball' turn on its side.. ( matel i think.. )

That sounds overpriced as heck if you ask me. I can load any music I want to my stereo system or smartphone and program it to play the music at a given time anyway.
