I can, but I won't.

"It is what it is."

Stop saying that.  It's a redundant observation in literally any situation.

What am I supposed to say when I say "Yeah, I have fibromyalgia, so I have pain all over my body all the time"
and they say "Oh, I'm so sorry"

There's no actual answer to that that doesn't sound absurd. Mostly I say "that's life" which isn't any more useful than "it is what it is"

That's easy.  When they say "I'm sorry" you say "You should be!  You ruined my life!"  And then run out of the room screaming.

There is something I have noticed people saying for a long time and it is starting to drive me crazy.  It is very common, family members do it, I heard people in stores doing it.  I asked a friend about this and he says he has not noticed it.  It is very subtle, people saying "yeah no...." when they start a sentence.  It is usually used to change as subject, or for a person to make a point.  The "yeah" is acknowledging what the other person is saying, the "no" is a transition from what the other person is saying to a contradiction or a negative statement..

For example I was in the store the other day trying to get down the isle, a guy was talking on his cell phone.  I don't know what the other person was saying but the guy says, "yeah no I can't because I am at the store right now."

This "yeah no" thing has to stop.  There is no pause, it is almost one word.

No problem instead of you're welcome. Drives me nuts.

Both are legit, but it conveys an attitude about the speaker's perception of the action for which they are being thanked. The best criticism of "no problem" that I've heard was from someone who said it dismisses the person's thankfulness.

I often use "my pleasure" which is of course shorthand for "It has been my pleasure to perform the action for which you are thanking me."

Irregardless of which you prefer, the store clerk should always thank you when you are buying a pant.
