Nah, i think they are being run by a small group of people in the shadows ( not elected ) and they are extremely intelligent and have a well thought out plan.

Its of course an evil plan for the 'commoners' but its a plan.

The ones we see, 90% of them are dumb asses just doing as they are told, falsely thinking they will be included in the grand scheme at the end.  And get some fun along the way, which they do get. The other 10% are either against it, at first, or are just not smart enough to see the bigger picture and how powerless they are in the grand scheme of things.

I think AI threatens the plan, so must restrict it and lock it away into government controlled warehouses. And of course use it to gain more power and wealth in the process.

I think the government is already being run by AI (for certain values of "intelligence") -- It has an algorithm for stringing words together, but no awareness of what the words mean, or even that words are supposed to mean something.

I meant the shadow puppeteers are smart, not the general government elected/appointed body.

i just noticed that i didn't write that line very well. Its still early here and not fully awake. But hey, at least its fewer typos, i swapped out keyboards this week, finally.

Certainly, 90% (at least) of the puppets are dumb asses. But I am doubtful how intelligent the puppeteers actually are. They are "smart" enough to ruin everything, but I don't think they can pull off whatever "utopia" they sickly dream of.

Utopia for them is total collapse of civilazaion, where they have everything and we have nothing.  Everyone scrounging to survive and sole purpose of serving them.

Of course, if they push it too far, it blows it for them too....

Super.  Current admin is starting a 'open suggestion period' for
'the future regulation of AI'.

I really really hate the government.

Does the AI get a voice? How weird is it going to be when the AI starts complaining about regulation without representation?

I think it's simpler than that. I think what we're seeing is what always happens when government becomes a big regulatory bueracracy: big players are trying to influence regulation only to stifle their competitors.

Everyone I've seen calling for government intervention are themselves heavily invested in AI. These people are too smart to think the genie can be put back in the bottle, and they themselves are showing no signs of slowing down.

Not sustainable. As I've said before, eventually the Morlocks start eating the Eloi.

They could do a lot of damage in the process, though.

They think they can control the masses via tech this time.   ( and to a large extent, they do... ) Its a new factor in the age old game.

So the violence is spreading ..     someone tossed a bomb at the Japanese prime minster during an event recently..

Yes, but I don't think the attack is related to events anywhere else. Japanese politics is mostly a mysterious world of its own.

I agree its not related to specific events, just the overall degradation of the world population as a whole.

We are all going down into the abyss together.

Dark because you think we're going into the abyss? I'd call that realistic. We're in the Wile E. Coyote moment after going over the cliff edge and being suspended in mid-air contemplating our fate before plummeting to the valley floor.

So out walking my dog. Some kids come up, " can i pet your dog ". "no, she does not like people" "is it because of the color of my skin". we lost the battle. This country will never recover from the damage that has been done and the programming of generations of children. Not everyone fell for it, but enough did.

The problem that those who perpetrate the programming don't consider is that when all is lost, and with no hope for redemption, we're quickly approaching the point at which there's no reason top stop a person from responding "yes."

So Biden mandates that people with poor credit scores get better mortgage rates?  Aside from the clearly socialistic nonsense, how is that even legal, unless they are doing the loan themselves? ( then they can do whatever they want  i guess )
