There is good news for Debian Sid users. "The final bits of GNOME 3.4 have landed and if all looks as good as it does now, they should migrate to wheezy in about a week," posts Jordi Mallach on his blog.

To change the properties of the panel, which by default is on the bottom edge of the desktop, you need to access the Panel Tool Box widget located on the extreme right edge of the panel. Depending on the distribution you are using, the panel could be locked or unlocked.

cPanel Inc. has released a notice stating to upgrade cpanel via a "cPanel News: Targeted Security Release 2012-05-31 Announcement". These notices are extremely rare and should be taken very seriously. They did not give very many details other than to upgrade ASAP and they would release more specifics shortly, after everyone has a chance to upgrade.

Subject: Linus Torvalds finds GNOME 3.4 to be a "total user experience design failure"
When Fedora 17 released GNOME 3.4, I found I could deal with it. I still didn’t like it much, and I prefer both Ubuntu 12.04’s Unity and Linux Mint 13’s Cinnamon interfaces, but if I had to, I could live with the GNOME 3.4 desktop. But for Linus Torvalds, Linux’s primary creator, GNOME 3.4 is ”a total UX (user experience design) failure.”

Subject: Turn your old Netbook into a Touchscreen Tablet
Tablets are taking over the portable-computing market, but that doesn’t mean the netbooks that they’ve replaced are useless. It’s possible to jam the processing power and battery life of most netbook models into a smaller, touchscreen-equipped package.

Last day I cloned shell repository for trying the very newest of it. Then I thought to check when was the initial commit, and then I was wondering how many commits have been made in total. And then I said to myself -why not put these data on charts, just for fun :)

This guide explains how you can install and use KVM for creating and running virtual machines on an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server. I will show how to create image-based virtual machines and also virtual machines that use a logical volume (LVM). KVM is short for Kernel-based Virtual Machine and makes use of hardware virtualization, i.e., you need a CPU that supports hardware virtualization, e.g. Intel VT or AMD-V.

Subject: Pulling A Lunduke: Holding Source Code Hostage
Unfortunately, what should have been good news turned out to be little more than a PR stunt. Rather than actually open sourcing his applications, Lunduke decided to hold the source code hostage: demanding users sign up for a repeating monthly subscription to enable him to continue developing his software under an open source license.
