the gray side (google). Never did figure out what the hell that wasThey have cookies but they are the generic store brand cookies.
how did you do that?
so far I only knew they "bought" the church by making the state collect the income for the church as church tax in germany...
Well I started by calling him a communist (which he is, almost unapologetically).
My mother attempted to retort that by pointing out that when he speaks, lots of people are eager to listen to him. At that point I was almost obligated to make a Godwinian comparison to Hitler.
Seriously, if the Catholic Church wants to be taken seriously as a legitimate Christian denomination, they need to axe that idiot as soon as possible.

The "political side" of me agrees with you completely and enthusiastically.
The "religion side" of me, however, is not entirely sure.
Pope Frank is really uttering too many Christ-like statements.
As someone observed a few days ago (elsewhere), if you remove "the poor" from the New Testament, particularly the Synoptic Gospels, you really have precious little left.
have you ever read a fair chunk of the bible? there is quiet a lot in there talking about not having private property - or at least giving away half of what you own and so forth.
Giving [some|all] of what you have to the poor is encouraged in the Bible.
Having [some|all] of what you have *forcibly stolen* from you, and given (ostensibly) to the poor, may be found in Robin Hood and in the Communist Manifesto, but *not* in the Bible.
And from a political viewpoint, it is frequently observed by anyone paying attention, and ignored by the communist/socialist media, that conservatives consistently perform more charitable giving than liberals.
From a religious viewpoint, I need to point out that good works are the *result* of salvation, not the cause. Not the exclusive result, of course, as it's easy to observe non-Christians (whether Comrade Frank is included among that group is left as an exercise for the reader) performing good works.
Anyway, the real objective was to get Mom all bent out of shape ... mission accomplished. Unfortunately, however, Godwin-trolling is not as satisfying when the mark is not familiar with the glorious history of people being compared to Adolf Hitler in online discussions.
And of course when you are physically present in a room with your own mother, it is difficult to masquerade as Mike Godwin.
yes, its about giving, but quantities are pretty clear.
many of the riches the katholic church has nowadays originates in that sort of giving.
All right, that's enough.
Effective immediately, I am officially declaring myself the new Pope. And let's not stop there; I am also officially declaring myself the new Caliph.
So now I have a flock of about 3 billion, and I am instructing them all to CUT THE CRAP ALREADY.
Salvation being the reward of spending eternity in the Presence of Almighty God, is the end result of living a good and proper life in accordance with God's Word.
Period.
It is not some "thing" which you "get" and therein shout "I am saved."
You will not receive Salvation until the Judge determines you've earned it.
And you earn it through the grace of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
And the Judgment requires your presence before God - sorry but you have to pass through the "barrier" of Death first. Thank Adan/Eve for that.
Salvation being the reward of spending eternity in the Presence of
Almighty God, is the end result of living a good and proper life in

With all due respect ... NOPE.
"For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." [Ephesians 2:8-9]
Sacred Scripture is but one of the three foundations of the Church, the other
two being Tradition and the Magisterium. Seek your answer in the latter of
those two and you will find your error(s).
Well, why not?

I'll leave the comparisons to Trump for CNN. Comparisons to *Hitler* are for here.
OK, fuck CNN. How about Reason instead?

Transitive property of equality: Trump=Sanders=Hitler.
Even socialists are calling him an, umm, national socialist!

Sanders and Trump are definitely two sides of the same coin, much in the same way Jeb Hitler Bush and Hitlery Hitler Clinton are two sides of the same coin. I'll take the loudmouth coin over the establishment coin any day.
But it's true, you can't spell NAZI without using the (translated) words "National Socialist"
(And you can't spell Rosie O'Donnell without using the word "CUNT")
