A wonderful place to start is http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/doku.php?id=faq:start

Also, take advantage of the search command up in the top right corner, it is a life saver when it comes to finding the right documentation.

I've already tried the recommended DB fixes with db_recover and
database_cleanup.sh. Also tried reinstalling Citadel using
easyinstall, then copying back the supposedly repaired cdb.* files.
No joy. Hoping for any help on how to recover the bad cdb.02. Also,
what's stored in cdb.02? Maybe I can just restore the other cdb.*
files and try to re-create cdb.02?

It sounds like you've done everything we would normally recommend, and in the right order, too.

Unfortunately you'll probably just have to restore your most recent backup from before the power outage.

Created a new account, in the summary panel it shows that "your account administrator is " with no name next to it.

Sounds like you need to run the setup again and choose the account you made as the Aide account.

Close, but not quite. The spurious entries above the Address book are gone, but the headers where the Alphabetic index should be still read (no-(no

That is with the latest from master.

Any update on this? Also, while you are at it, I am encountering a couple

users who end up with 50 - 100 copies of their addresses in their vcard.

The fix has just gone in and is now available via Easy Install or source tarballs.

There was a bug in the contact editor template that caused it to save any edited contact on top of your own personal information. This is obviously a problem (and may explain some other reports of email address problems).
It's been fixed.

Please take it for a spin and let me know if there are any other issues.

Broadcast message from systemd-journald@smcit (Sun 2017-03-12 09:29:53 EDT):

How can I tell what is causing that and how to fix it?

I noticed that any flags set on messages apart from read / unread get stripped from the IMAP message store. Can we add support for flagging, as is supported in modern mail clients?

Best I can tell from looking at the code is that tabnames[] is not getting populated, hence nothing to fill the tab name with.

webcit/tabs.c:wc_printf("%s", tabnames[i]);

Subject: Flush User Cache

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I wonder if it would be possible to do two things for LDAP / AD users:

Expose the internal users that are generated by the logging in / registration of new LDAP users to a list for use in Room invites etc (where a GAB or other contact book includes a LOT of extra information which must be edited heavily for each user that needs to be added to the room)

and

Create a button / option in Administration which allows for the flushing of the user table / GAB to allow for a fresh start of the user table for regenerating the GAB / user list from a script.

I checked my version running 9.01 and it works... so whatever happened in between there would be the culprit. I wonder if it happened with the conversion to escaped strings..

When building from git, the customizations within the citadel folder get wiped out. It would be good to have a citadel form of the static folder in webcit to keep changes which are customized before upgrade.

I am still facing the issue of an undelete-able room within one of my users, as well as the aide user. Is there a command I can issue to force delete that room?

The room name is

0000000001.BASEROOM

which was set somehow by a mail client with a folder named 1.Blah which the server renamed and then would not allow me to edit or delete.

And of course, as soon as I post this, I find it on the summary page. Not where I ever think to look for version info. On another topic, anyone ever got one of the ics sync tools on Android to manage to upload changes from the Android calendar to the Citadel calendar? I've tried several current ones and while they download the calendar entries just fine - the upload either "succeeds" with no changes, the upload fails, or for one app (the most expensive one) it managed to just wipe my calendar on citadel.Thunderbird manages the calendar just fine.

Does this setting only apply to public room creation, or will someone who does not have room creation permission (because of level) not be able to create personal rooms for mail folders as well?
