ok, thanks. The kolabsync author (corinis) has acknowledged that the string is ok and that synckolab should handle this better. He (or she? Why would I assume coronis is a man?) is going to look into it.

Mon Oct 05 2015 06:50:30 EDT from dothebart @ Uncensored Subject: Re: kolabsync chokes on all-day-events

the reason you see citadel.org in there is that your timezone database vendor is citadel.org (which is inside of libical)

I don't know whether the thunderbird guys meanwhile unforked too, since they used to have an own fork.

Afaik right now Kontact, Evolution and Citadel use the same libical.

Sun Oct 04 2015 08:09:31 EDT from rolfijn @ Uncensored Subject: Re: kolabsync chokes on all-day-events

I have been investigating further. Don't know what the problem is. It's not just all-day events. I did notice that the message containing the vcalendar information has the following information in it:

TZID=3D/citadel.org/Tzfile/Europe/Amsterdam:20151024T090000

I viewed it's content using the view source option in Thunderbird. Is this "right"? It appears to me it should just say something like Europe/Amsterdam. I noticed it both on my home-server and on uncensored

Fri Oct 02 2015 17:19:12 EDT from rolfijn @ Uncensored Subject: kolabsync chokes on all-day-events

Hi, I am trying to sync my Citadel calendar with Thunderbird/Lightning. This seems to work, but it chokes on "all day events". For testing I created a calendar in Thunderbird and copied some of my gmail appointments to it. Then syncing goes fine until I add an all-day_event to this calendar. Synckolab starts syncing but "hangs" on the all-day-event until I cancel it. I notice the following error in the Thunderbird error log:

Timestamp: 02-10-15 23:06:00
Error: TypeError: tmp_date.getTime is not a function
Source File: chrome://synckolab/content/calendarTools.js
Line: 526

When I remove the all day event in my local thunderbird calendar it syncs fine again, but only after I restart Thunderbird (and with it synkolab?)

  • Citadel version: Citadel 9.01 with WebCit 9.01, server build 9.01
  • Thunderbird version: 38.2.0 on Ubuntu linux 15.04
  • Kolabsync add-on version 3.1.6

I know I should probably ask in the synckolab forum, but I had uncensored open and thought there may be people here with similar experiences and maybe even a solution.

Regards,

Rolfijn

Hi guys,

can someone explain why there are duplicate emails in 'sent' and 'sent items' folder ?

Its quiet simple: while you relay mails via citadel, it bcc's them to your sent items folder. That way email clients don't have to do this themselves (there are quiet some that don't)

But, if you have an email client that also does it by itself, you get duplicates. Usually those email clients that are able to do this, are configurable not to do it. Turn it of, and no more duplicates will appear.

Hi everyone , i am leaving here 1 pdf repor from Accunetix Vulnerability Scanner witch has detected some vulnerabilities in both versions of citadel installations .

The high Risk vulnerabilities witch are "Cross Site Scripting" are confirmed by me .

version 8.14 report : https://www.sendspace.com/file/c5psf3

version 8.24 is finishing here the scan on my server and is giving me the same results .

Version 8.24

And version 9.1 is also vulnerable to this cross site script , i just made a test on this board a few moments ago .

The objective of this post is informational , and i did it in order to alarm programmer to correct in future versions these vulnerabilities .

The report also contains multiple advice on other detections .

Subject: Citadel - Open Berkeley db by using SQLite and add info when new user

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello

So I've found too many articles where it says you can open Berkeley db by using SQLite but couldn't find a guide.

Could anyone point me to a guide or something?

Also when new user is registering since this is open source app where is code located so I can add new stuff to it?

(Not just some random mushmush I may have mentioned here )

So by using SQLite I want to open database and see changes. For example now all users have to add phone number or something and that it is saved into database.

Any help is welcome

Thanks !

Yes, you're right, that error message from do_template doesn't properly escape the input.

regarding the other reports, I don't think we can do much about them. Copyright headers will have to stay in place ;-)

The host-header in the one report isn't generated by webcit itself - did you use an apache proxy?

if you tick 'Require registration for new users' in the server settings, the user is urged to fill its personal vcard.

However, that doesn't force him to enter a phone number.

You could alter webcits vcard_edit.c to enforce that.

So by using SQLite I want to open database and see changes. For example now all users have to add phone number or something and that it is saved into database.

I haven't used anything else then citadel itself to work on the db files. It also probably only will work when citserver itself is offline.

service citadel start will get you going again.

What version are you running, under which OS (distribution and version) and are there any core dumps available to analyze?

So by using SQLite I want to open database and see changes. For
example now all users have to add phone number or something and that
it is saved into database.

When using SQLite with Berkeley DB, SQLite manages the schema/RDBMS layer, while Berkeley DB provides the back end storage.

Citadel does not usse SQLite, or any schema layer at all for that matter.
It writes its internal data structures as binary blobs directly into Berkeley DB. This is why it is so efficient and its data store layer is 100% maintenance-free.

Unfortunately a side effect of this design choice is that you cannot manipulate the database using external tools.
