And that happens. People buy based on it saying, "buy in bulk and save!" and if you can confuse them by obscuring the comparison to not buying in bulk, they'll take your word for it.

I guess I'm too much of a nerd.  My eyes go right to the unit price when I am comparison shopping.

I don't know if it is the same where you are, sometimes the unit prices do not measure the same unit, then I have to pull out the calculator.

Heh. Yeah. One brand is bulk priced per pound and the other is priced per 100-count. Love that.

I am saying the same brand, same product.

Single item $1.53 per ounce.
Multi-item $24.80 per pound.

Chicken In a Biscuit does this, I think. Different measures between regular size and family size.

"On sale"

Not really.

Studies show that our customer demographic doesn't do math.

$3.94 (69.1 cents/OZ) Crest Cavity Protection Toothpaste, Regular Paste, 5.7 oz, 3 Pack
$1.96 (34.4 cents/OZ) Crest Cavity Protection Toothpaste, Regular Paste, 5.7 oz

Are they using the package price, dividing it by a single 5.7oz instead of 17.1oz?   This is where I would usually see a different unit of measurement, pounds vs ounces.

Well then let's call it a surcharge for being bad at math.

Today I learned that as long as you tune an antenna to an SWR (standing wave ratio) of 2.0:1 or below, that it will get out your signal with 88% ERP (effective radiated power). I've always tried to tune to as close to 1:1 as possible. And this comes out to a .1 dB change in signal strength, hardly noticeable. That makes my life a little easier.

Often times in the analog world, 'close enough' works.

TIL that Roblox (you know, the company who makes that game pre-teens love to play) owns the domain "childporn.shop" and actually hosts it on their network.

I haven't looked to see what they are hosting there. :|

They joined a peering fabric that my network participates in.   When I saw that I thought to myself, "wow, roblox operates their own network instead of operating in someone else's cloud?" and started clicking around to see what they have.

My nieces play Roblox.  Needless to say I would not approve of them trafficking in child porn.
