Today I Learned (and apparently I'm the last person on earth to learn this) that "Karen" is a generic name for a middle aged suburban woman who always asks to speak to the manager.

I knew of the name but I didn't know it's origin.  I think it is a generic name to any woman who complains or screams at people.

My niece said it was from this skit (2:20 min)

I say it is from this Caren with a "C"   WARNING: You will want to strangle this Caren, you will be praying that the police shoot her  (8 min)

The employees that are not aware of their surrondings and do not make an effort to obscure their key presses are a bigger problem.

I'm disappointed. I thought it would be a video of Caryn Johnson, who used to be entertaining but switched completely over to hate and bigotry some number of years ago.

Zooer - It's not the ones that don't obscure their key presses that make me worried. It's the ones with the sticky notes with passwords on their monitor.

Doesn't matter. Everyone knows that the back door password is "joshua" and using that you can get into any government computer.

TIL... that COVID-19 is affecting Google Maps. Google Maps uses historical data to map the best routes for direction. With COVID-19 driving patterns have changed, no one is commuting, so the historical routes are inaccurate for mapping the best routes. I had always thought Google Maps used current real time data, but in fact it uses historical data as well.

TIL that the word "privy" is not just used at Renaissance faires ... it is a legal term and is used to refer to a type of potty that is not permitted to be constructed anymore.

Yeah, Maps emphasizes historical data when you're doing a "arrive by X" search, but puts somewhat more emphasis on realtime data for a normal search.

That i should have bought a 10 pound CO2 tank locally, instead of a 5 pound from amazon.  Same damned price ( after shipping anyway ).  What is really odd, $12.50 to fill the 5 pound.    $18 for the 10 pound.

Got tired of driving to town once a year (or so to get it filled. This trip up:  "hey while i'm here you have any 10 pound bottles"..   ( non covid year. last year doesn't count since im home all the time so it lasted 8 months )

now i have enough for close to 3 years..

( another shop across town charges 75 bucks a fill ..  wtf )

This is kind of similar to the supermarket putting the price of the "Family Pack" on sale compared to its regular price, but if you look at the regular price for the smaller package, you're paying less per unit buying the smaller package.

And that happens. People buy based on it saying, "buy in bulk and save!" and if you can confuse them by obscuring the comparison to not buying in bulk, they'll take your word for it.

Right, i didnt expect it to be a full 2x, but also never expected it to be such a slight difference.  10 pound really isn't much so didnt expect a discount like that. Now if i was getting a 50 or 100 filled up, there i would expect a discount for volume.

Got the 5 tank from Amazon as the only place in town i new about at the time wanted lots.. ( the 75 dollar refill...even Dicks was cheaper, but in 2 pound increments as they would not fill above a 2 pound tank ).  My fault for not doing actual research.
