That's what will come next year. At least, once I actually live in my home again.
In the meantime, I have two weeks to figure out where to live for the two months I'm likely to be out of a home.

In your office, of course. Then you'll live closer to work and work closer to home.
My boss threatened to walk down the hall and punch me in the face because
I asked him if he ACTUALLY read my email.
Fucker.
Fucker.
In situations like this, it's important to escalate. See how far you can push things until he breaks.
The insurance payoff in these situations can be lucrative.
Absolutely. And from what I've read, if you do it right, you can even collect disability while you play golf or take a cruise to Aruba....
a little tact goes a long way
Tact is overrated. Fly off the handle first, ask questions later.
(Something I learned while observing Ragnar and his previous boss.)
zippity do da, zippity-ay....my, oh my, what waste of a day...
I just spent 7hrs troubleshooting connectivity issues with a bunch of people who can't think through a paper bag, while two PMs kind of sat there whinging about what to do....only to discover after I started personally banging heads together that the clowns had accidentally duped IPs on the network. :-/

This only works if the boss respects you and also has a thick skin. A paranoid boss who is afraid people may discover his weaknesses can respond very poorly to this method.
That means it's time to thin the herd. It's the same reason we should institute
mandatory peanut butter consumption in schools.
Uh oh. A clueless micromanager just landed in our organization. Must
make it a mission to scare this person away. Micromanagement will not
be tolerated.
The pointy hair is becoming easier and easier to see now.
The new cover sheet for the TPS reports will arrive any day now.
I have something positive to say about work today!
For the first time since I started working here, we actually collaberated together, each one of us contributing our ideas, towards a particularly difficult goal.
This hasn't quite happened like this before. I'm really happy about it.
I think a combination of a new hire who isn't afraid to speak out, and me pulling back a bit on suggestions, contributed to this.
I got into a huge fight with my boss yesterday and basically dared him to
fire me.
I'm still employed today.
Interesting.

I did the same thing on Friday. Word.
Now I only feel slightly better about shit around here. It's going to be a long road...
My former boss picked a fight with me yesterday, and found out from *his*
boss that he should maybe stop doing that. Life is good :)
