So, how about that mainstream commercial television programming?

Actually I have been catching up on episodes of Barney Miller on antennatv.tv.  I have a friend that reminds me of the Dietrich character.

I can not stand to watch more than 10 seconds of Big-bang theory or any other movie/series in which Johnny Galecki appears. He is totally void of any acting capability and annoys me with his presence. But I also hate Numb3rs and anything else that counts as math/science pr0n.

Johnny Galecki makes the same face throughout the entire show, I think it is suppose to be a confused and
disgusted face directed at his roommate. No matter what happens he makes that face. Open mouth, one side
slightly raised, surprised eyes, slight head shake. That is the extent of his acting.

I don't get why the show is so popular.

Oh Galecki was banging the hot chick on the show and in real life. Another one of life's mysteries.

Hey Shazam, remember the time I tried to put out an oil fire with
water? And we had a big fireball in my dorm room?

Hey, I DO remember that. Heh. Good times, we had, huh? You know what's funny? In my old age I stopped playing with or being unusually fascinated with lighting fires. Just in time for my kids to be fascinated with it.

What do you want, it's just a TV show. Galecki is cute anyway, I'm not an expert or anything but I think if an actor is good looking then they don't really need to know how to act. I like the Big Bang Theory, it's amusing.

Anyone else here following the Total Drama All Stars? My kids make sure to show me each episode and insist that I guess who will be the next one to go. I never watched any actual reality TV shows, but I get that this one makes fun of them.

Hey, did anyone catch the obscene display of crass commercialism masquerading as a Thanksgiving parade in Herald Square this morning?

My daughter took one look at it and said "where's the giving thanks?"

Pretty insightful for an 8 year old.

I've had lots of people assure me that I would like BBT, but I've seen it half a dozen times and don't really care for it. It's kind of funny, but the humor is really pretty adult-oriented for my taste, to the point where I was quickly ready to change the channel every time. Maybe I've been watching too many cartoon dinosaurs for the last few years with my kids, but I really don't enjoy that sort of thing; it used to be just not to my taste, but now I find it actively irritating.

That's pretty much how I feel about mainstream television in general. BBT hits a few funny bones for me but most of the things on TV actively drive me out of the room.

Sadly - or gladly, my tv watching consists only of many episodes of Red Dwarf via Netflix which I somehow find entertaining.  Missed it the first time around.

Like you don't have a software defined radio scanning and transcribing all soaps in Germany... (well, in case you don't, I can get you a query tool or give you an api that you can write something to fulfill your needs).... ha, ha, ha...

Quote of the day (from one of my friends, via G+...)

"I'd love to see Benedict Cumberpatch dressed as a squirrel in a tree talking with Carol and Paula."
