My personal feelings, not reality.
Most organized crime syndicates get away with being above the law. Doesn't make it right.

same old story, same old boys club, just different players.
McConnell decides not to run again. Really he needs to retire out, today.... His very existence is a waste of resources.
Good. Even Trump appointees are starting to push back on that scumbag Musk. i hope they push him off a cliff. ( literally )
And in a few cases, im beginning to question my support of his boss. No, one does not agree on everything, but Trump doing some really freaking stupid things.
A lot of our stuff won't be made in China anymore, how terrible.

So now you can buy your way to citizenship, and into the old boys club i'm sure. Super. 5 million gets you a 'gold card'. Bleh.
How about we go back to: Follow the rules, learn our ways, intend to integrate with our society and not disrupt it, and have actual skills to contribute to our society ( cash isn't a skill )
So its just business as usual in DC. ( referring to the selective minor release of a few Epstein documents to a select few )
I expect the same on other promised document releases.
Not that i really care about any of those documents, whatever we see is a lie anyway... .But not surprised a bit really on the latest move. Nothing ever changes, other than we serfs get beat on harder.
Well, of course he is. Same story, different players. ( yes, and while i realize its only February, at this point i have lost all faith in Trump at this point. Nothing has really changed, i dont see it changing. )

You're a very confusing one to follow. I agree that Musk is not one to trust, but I've been enjoying everything that's been happening lately. What could you possibly have a problem with??

Tons of countries have these, including the US. The only thing new about it is the gimmicky "gold card" presentation.
Just because others do it, that doesn't make it 'right'.

Is it just me, or is Trump actively working towards extracting the US from the NATO?
The staged public humilliation Zelensky got seems to me like a calculated move. It sounded like a way of sending the message "There will be a ceasefire in Ukraine under the conditions the US demands, or you Europeans can find yourself somebody else to support you." Obviously, most Europeans are not accepting, so the outcome is clear.
However, what suggests to me that Trump intends to ditch the NATO for good is a) Von der Leyen, Draghi and company have stepped up and declared Europe needs to build an European defense body (implying they know NATO won't be serviceable in the near future) and b) Trump has been showing support towards the strategic interests of non-NATO allies of the US against NATO members.
Where this to be true, I expect US mediterranean bases to be relocated to North Africa, and the US to form an agreement with Russia in order to fend off threads from China and the middle east.
If this comes to fructuition, Trump will be the man who will have applied Milei's Chainsaw at geopolitical scale.
I personally think it is a brilliant move as far as the US is concerned. the EU is going down the drain so fast if you blink you will miss it. Cutting ties with the EU makes sense because they are antiamerican, and they are a failling power you don't want to be dragged by on their fall.
What pisses me off greatly is my Dear Leader here used to be actively anti-Trump until he got re-elected, then continued to be actively anti-Trump, so therefore Trump has placed us in the list of people to fuck hard with a gigantic spiky cucumber. And rightly so.
I expect my pityful excuse of a country to actually lose territory over this.
Is it just me, or is Trump actively working towards extracting the US
from the NATO?
I think so, even if he doesn't spell it out that way. It comes through in his repeated demands that US allies pay their fare share for the common defense, which they have never done and probably never will do short of a drastic move by the US side. If he's truly intent on cutting the US military budget by 50%, an excellent place to save a few bucks is to stop propping up Europe from Soviet aggression -- aggression that went away with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Close the bases, take away the endless parade of dollars.
Even if NATO itself doesn't disappear, it will be irreparably neutered with the lack of US funds. If the Europeans want to go off and make a NATO-lite themselves, I say let them have at it. It will be as inept as the League of Nations was 100 years ago.
If you missed last night's congressional address, go watch it now! It was President Trump at his absolute finest.
He came out swinging and didn't stop. Two hours of victory laps, pwning the dems, and being the awesome loudmouth we fell in love with back in 2016.
The dems predictably acted like children. Dressed to protest, holding up signs, being disruptive, one of them even had to be removed from the floor.
Yes, I voted for this. I voted for exactly this.
Trump is such a dictator he is trying to reduce the size and scope of the branch of government he controls.

I usually don't watch such things, because they are shitfests more often than not. However, since IGnatius T Foobar mentioned it, I decided to give it a go.
I didn't appreciate the WWE politics and I think the signal/noise ratio wasn't very good.
On the other hand, the signal/noise ratio was still 30 times better what I am used to in my country, so maybe I should not complain. In any case, the meeting really showed to me Trump is capable of doing in a month so much more than any politician here in years. It was sort of depresing.
Something that really touched me is that Trump openly acknowledges he owes the collectives who support him. My experience here is if you vote for a party that represents rural population, what that party does is screw you over. Meanwhile Trump made sure to thank LEOs and farming collectives and mention measures taken to defend their interests.
It was mostly a display of political power (aka a shitfest) but it was soo much better than what I was expecting. Too bad I don't have cash to buy one of those gold cards.
Thanks for sharing.
