Ok folks, I've done a pretty major Citadel server upgrade, so if you see anything weird, please let me know.
That is, of course, weird in a way that is not the normal kind of weird you find around here.
(And no you shouldn't see any change in functionality of the system ... all of the changes are under the hood.)
Visited rooms do no longer become marked as "read". Even after several trials, logging out, logging in, switching browsers, etc.
Ok, when I use the "Go to next room" button it works.
But it used to work, when I read through to the "Last" page of a room and then clicked "Rooms" on the left and went another room. This part does no longer work.

On the other hand, the future of Thunderbird remains

I'd rather see them dump Firefox and improve Thunderbird. Thunderbird
Sad. I still use Thunderbird for all my "home" email - I'm attached to it at the hip with so many site accounts that I've indefinitely deferred the move to the grey havens of Gmail.
Agreed, Thunderbird is far more important to me than Firefox in terms of frequency of use, but Firefox remains an important legacy compatibility tool for certain websites and web development tasks. E.g., anything that still relies on Java won't run in Chrome.
I guess they're *both* legacy tools, actually.
Wed May 04 2016 19:07:07 EDT from IGnatius T FoobarWebmail will eventually make all email clients obsolete.
I disagree. Webmail has been around forever. My first email account was with 37.com, webmail only, no pop. It sucked. Ever since, webmail has annoyed me. I had a gmail account back when it was invite only. I even prefer crappy mobile phone mail clients over webmail solutions.
The only webmail that is likeable is uncensored!
Now if the software itself would only be mobile-friendly, we'd have something
there. But that's coming :)
