It is a shame the old citadel tricks that worked in text mode don't translate to the web client.

Oh, that's an interesting idea... if the keycodes we use in the text client translated to the web client as well. Hm.

We used to fake messages in the old citadel text/dial up days. Make it seem like a message was under your
message when it was your message.

Blasfamy! That would be wrong and cruel, especially to new users.

...but oh so fun. It just doesn't work anymore,

(I bet this doesn't work in text mode either)

It sort of worked in text mode.

Sort of, but not really. For example, my client shows the date in a different format (I don't quite remember when we switched from "Mmm DD YYYY" to "YYYY-MM-DD" but it did happen) and I've got colorized headers turned on.

See, my text client doesn't seem to have those options, although I get funky header colors that seem to merge
with the text below the header every now and again.

I am using whatever date format is on this version of the text client. (8.20-1) I don't know what the latest
version is, I do remember asking about it but for whatever the reason was I never found a later version, it was
never in the repositories or it didn't compile correctly.

If you're using the text client on your own computer (as opposed to reaching the hosted copy of it via telnet or ssh) you can edit your .citadelrc to change all of the options.

I will have to go through it again.

Still would like W)ho and https to work.

I downloaded and compliled textclient_8.22-1.tar.gz, according to Synaptic Package Manger I still have 8.20.
There doesn't seem to be any command line options to check the version number.

Btw. Has anyone ever requested or ever seriously thought of adding some of the pim functionality, even just a calendar ala "gcal, cal, caqlendar, pal" etc.. to the text client?

(my money is on gcal  B) )

Hello Zooer.  Mo, it was just machine language from an early Apple II or was it Apple I to make it boot the (rom / floppy) from slot 6 while in monitor mode.

one reason to move the commandline client out of the core tarball was to ease such undertakings, and clear the sight to the neccessery parts.

So feel welcome to send patches ;-)

Pro'lly webcit has some code to inspire you.
