Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans who are happy to celebrate Sarah Hale's vision of the celebration of home, hearth, and family. May it infuriate those who claim it is abusive towards indigenous people -- while those who are actually indigeous are probably celebrating Turkey Day with the rest of us.

May you all enjoy the family, friends, food, and whatever makes your home a happy place. And may you all have good luck avoiding Stupidfest until at least December 21.

Stupidfest?

Stupidfest is the yearly celebration of secular humanist crap, often observed by excessive commercial activity, the addition of sleigh bell sounds to everything, and the induction of making you want to throw things at your television even more than usual. Ancient pagans called it Yule, but in the 20th century the corporations began calling it "Christmas" as a way of conflating it with the Christian holiday of the same name. Now that The Elect have decided that Christianity is problematic, they often call it "The Holiday". I continue to call it StupidFest.

Ah.

And thank you for giving the pagans credit.

I made $70 during Fangsgiving!  I would have made moar but I was called home at 18:00, so that sux (I normally work until 20:00).  My Fangsgiving dinner was super tasty steak from HelloFresh.

People always tip moar to those of us who work on Holidays.

I've decided to call Thanksgiving, "Divine Providence and Manifest Destiny Day" over on Twitter.

This seems quite effective.

Funny thing is i think, other than getting a paid day off work, all holidays are stupid, especially religious ones. BUT unlike the left, i dont have a problem with others doing it if they like.

Back when i worked in retail ( ran the in-store 'warehouse' for a department store ) id always work holidays.  2x pay + got a paid day off later when others were working, so i could go outside in peace. AND had an excuse for not going to the obligatory family gatherings as a bonus. "sorry guys, i gotta work"

I generally volunteer to take on-call duty over holidays for much the same reason. I don't get overtime anymore (which is a load of BS, another story) but the pity factor is totally worth it - "you got 2 calls on Thanksgiving, take a day off next week". Plus the folks that have family obligations or religious stuff re grateful and sometimes I score there too (sorry you had to work, here's some apple pie).

Sure, why not? MIC has been doing it for years. At least this one has to be within shotgun distance.

If the cats are secretly running everything, they'd better fix everything that's broken right quick like. Extra tuna for whoever eliminates the broken layer of humanity standing between us and our furry overlords.

Maybe our feline overlords prefer the current level of human chaos? It might not mean more tuna, but it almost certainly means more snuggles and playtime.
