No matter how high any wall, it won't stop one drug mule or human trafficker.
At least you understand.
I, and many others, will disagree. Will it stop all? No, of course not and anyone saying that is silly. But if you look at history, secure borders do reduce it, and unsecured borders increases it. I'm willing to contribute my tax dollars on reduction. Its worth it.
No matter how high any wall, it won't stop one drug mule or human trafficker.
This is EXACTLY the problem.
White People on the East Coast thinking that their opinion has any connection to the reality of living near a border that isn't full of a bunch of French-speaking white people who drink a lot of beer, smoke a lot of pot, get free health care, and end every statement with a question.
As I mentioned above - the problem with ILLEGAL immigrants isn't so much that they (directly) cause problems for "white people". They cause tremendous issues within their own communities, though. The ones who don't cause tremendous issues for their own communities tend to get *exploited* - by their own communities and by white people.
A wall is absolutely another barrier to prevent entry and reduce and discourage entry - and they've been being used effectively all along the Southwest and Tijuana since well before the Bad Orange Man wanted to defeat the Wicked Witch of DC and made it a polarizing political issue. Nobody in New Jersey GAVE A FUCK about the hundreds of miles of border walls from Tijuana all the way through Arizona to New Mexico back then.
There is a LOT of technology and a lot of manpower involved in stopping illegal border crossings and black market smuggling that most of the Citadelphians of Uncensored would probably be SHOCKED to encounter.
And they still dig tunnels and the amount that gets through continues to increase. The Left knows this - and continues to parade the idea of just opening the borders to solve the problem. "If we stop trying to stop it, it won't be a PROBLEM anymore..."
Which is the Democrat version of "Lay back and think of England." You're going to get fucked, so you might as well just ignore it.
Fixing our education system is a problem when you're diverting all of your education funds into ESL and other special programs to meet the increasing burden of overwhelming illegal immigration in your State. California spends BILLIONS every year on special programs, on healthcare, on licensing that is offered for free to their illegal immigrant communities. Illegal immigrants increasingly don't want to go to California. The net emigration from California has exceeded the net immigration in California for over the last decade. More people are leaving than entering - in part because the burden of supporting illegal immigrant populations is causing their entire system to collapse. Tent cities full of the homeless and illegal aliens line the grass strips in front of $2 million dollar 1200 sq. ft. condos on Venice Beach and the residents of those tent cities shit on the sidewalk. That is what happens when when you allow unfettered illegal immigration to the people of Mexico and everywhere else south of California. The people who learn to build bridges and infrastructure certainly don't stick around in California. Their bridges and infrastructure are collapsing at a rate that makes Mexicos roads and bridges look like a safe place to drive.
Increasingly, on moving here and finding it isn't actually better than where they came from, illegal immigrants are voluntarily returning back to their country. So, if THAT is the Democrats plan - to fuck up this Country so it is a worse shithole than the South and Central American countries where we've seen floods of illegal immigration come from - so that they stop coming and start leaving...
I guess that is working BETTER than a wall.
I am of Irish Canadian/Polish descent and was born in New Jersey so that makes me the official spokesperson for all white people.
Here's what I have learnt:
A wall is a dumb idea.
I have no problem with people from Mexico or anywhere else south of California wanting to live here.
No matter how high any wall, it won't stop one drug mule or human trafficker.
Besides, I have been ripped off, stolen from, beaten and fcked over by my fellow white brethren more than all other races and colors COMBINED.
We don't need a wall. We need to fix our education system. We need to teach our kids how to make things like bridges and infrastructure, instead of hamburgers and latte. We need to stop in our race to screw this country up to the point where people won't want to pick up and move here.

You're the spokeperson. Can I be the treasurer?
PD can be General Secretary of the Committee.
I said that I was the spokesperson in a satirical manner because it seems that I am surrounded (not in this forum but in real life) by too many privileged, entitled members of "my own people" (also said with a degree of sarcasm).
I will rescind the statement I made about a wall not stopping one drug mule or human trafficker. I suppose that is too broad. However, I don't think that the height and/or sophistication of said wall would really SOLVE the problem. PD is right, it would probably be a deterrent and a deterrent or wall of even marginal efficacy is better than nothing. I just don't think the lions share of problem people would attempt to scale a really high wall. I believe the ones that cause the most crimes of turpitude have and will figure out ways AROUND a wall, not over it.
Also: ITF's desire for a wall between his house and the idiot next door is something I could use also. Especially a sound deadening and odor redirecting one. The home behind mine is a rental. I own my home. The home behind mine is vacant at the moment but will not be for much longer. I hope the new tenants are not at all like the former tenants. There were many people living in the home, and I am convinced that their entire earthly directive was three-fold: to make as much noise as possible during all 24 hours, to generate as much smoke as possible from smoking meats (mainly all things pork) in the meat smoker in the yard, and occasionally the adult females would walk around in their birthday suits on the back deck. I guess that was a habit brought with them from the Old Country. That last part really isn't a complaint, but it didn't make up for the other grievances. The lots in my neighborhood are 50x100 at best.
Come to think of it, just forget I had an opinion on a US border wall. A wall between my yard and the yard behind it and behind mine is now on my front burner.

See... walls work. Obama has them around his houses. :)
I am a privileged, entitled white guy. I didn't start out that way though - I earned it. I don't intend to be forced to share the fruits of my own efforts with anyone, least of all people who snuck ahead in line of people who were waiting patiently to follow the rules. The people who do that should be politely escorted to the back of the line, when caught - and we should do all we can to ensure that it is more difficult to cut in line - not make it easier or just get rid of the line altogether.
Remember what happened at the Who concert with Festival seating in Ohio? Waiting your turn in line is important.
:)

True, but once they realize that the flood of potential *democrat voters* are laving and not just warm bodies to write off, then they will do something. For them. not the rest of us. Most likely more handouts of our tax dollars.

The problem is that it becomes a non-sustainable pyramid scheme, where the top 1% in California have to finance the bottom 58% - and increasingly the top earners, the businesses, are *leaving* - to the point where California is trying to impose "exit taxes" on people leaving the State. I mean - THAT is desperation... and I suspect not something that would hold up to a constitutional challenge. Has any State in history ever been able to impose a tax that punishes people for exercising their freedom to move freely within the United States? Beyond that, I can see other States like Texas, Nevada and Arizona offering tax credits equal to any tax penalty to residents or businesses leaving California. California is trying to de-incentivize leaving - it is easy for States that want those citizens or businesses to fight back. "Even with the tax penalty, with our tax credit and lower cost of living, you'll have a higher quality of life." It actually would allow competing States to discourage LOW wage earners from leaving while encouraging high wage earners and businesses from coming - by setting a minimum exit tax amount to qualify for a tax credit.
California is in a pickle.

You should definitely just go ahead and build it and make the neighbor pay for it :-D
Id be ok with that. Getting tax breaks should come with strings. Far too often they dont and local citizens lose in the deal.
But them trying to charge people for leaving, that needs to get up to SCOTUS and beat down, hard.

in the spirit of how bbs lobbies behaved in the past,
this thread started on another citadel...
ITF appears in The BBS Documentary not once, but more than once throughout the episodes.
The Mexicans have already figured out, if things go to shit here, as they appear to be going - they'll love having a wall we paid to build to keep them out, to keep US out.
The Left is trying hard to make it so that America isn't the destination for refugees, it is the source of them.

Which seems to be the overall strategy of "equity vs. equality" for the Left.
We have to handicap those who have too much advantage/privilege and elevate those who have too little until "the playing field is level," and then our enemies won't hate us, because we'll be as miserable as them. It is a philosophy that can be expressed by a simple meme - because it is about that practical extended to scale.

It's IG, if you please :)
The shoot for that documentary was fun. Jason was going for cool backdrops so we shot it in a data center, but the data center was too loud so we shot in a work room, and he had to throw most of the footage away because his mic was crap, so we did the rest in a conference room.
He was a 914 regular. Now he's the chief archivist of archive.org, which is pretty cool. But I hear archive.org is now caving in to censorship requests, which is not cool.
8 parts to that video. I think ill have to save them locally for later.
didja happen to notice that the equality and equity scenarios both happen to have hobo kids watching the game from over a fence without purchasing a ticket to have a seat?
