Yeah. It's a laptop computer so for now I've moved it (and its docking station) to the middle of the desk and am using its built in keyboard. I like the extra amount of desk space that is freed up but I'm not sure I can get used to having the big monitor off to one side.
I bought a Unicomp when the trackpoint buttons stopped working on my model M. It barely lasted 2 years, and now it randomly decides chunks of the keyboard don't work. Very disappointed.
I'll go right back to Matias when this one goes.
If you feel comfortable opening it up, it's likely dust or dirt in between the membrane sheets or a broken/corroded trace... which can be fixed with a trace pen. Model Ms are infinitely repairable.
*sigh*
This crappy non-mechanical keyboard I'm on right now is a distinct non-pleasure to type on. But it fits in the tray under my desk, which my M didn't.

It also says that if I want a Das Keyboard then I'd better get one before Cherry starts having some of their switches built in communist china to keep up with demand.
If you have gobs of money, you could get a unicomp:

Or just pay a measly $400 for a vintage one:
Hm, I should perhaps get one of those Das Keyboards for work.
Not only does it feel better, but the absurdly loud sounds it generates would annoy everyone around me at the office enough to encourage them to put me somewhere far away from them.
I guess I wasn't paying attention when HP split itself up into "HP Inc" (personal computers and printers) and "Hewlett Packard Enterprise" (servers, software, storage etc)
"Hewlett Packard Enterprise" is such a 20th century name. We don't use names that make sense in this business anymore. They should change it to something trendy and brandtastic. I suggest "Schnooblaxguh"
