So I went to a part of the valley I rarely visit, and found out an old friend of mine is still alive and well. He was happy to see me and came trotting to the fence, then there was so much petting and playful bitting. This guy is well past his 30s, every day he wakes up in good health is an absolute miracle.

In a nearby field there was this new mare I had never seen, so obviously I went to say hello to her. I kind of got out with mixed feelings. It is obvious she is well treated, but I think the proper word would be "maintained". It is obvious she has her hoof checks and everything but I don't think anybody had pet her in her life. I swear she was surprised by the idea of getting scratching.

Took one of the dogs out to the river today, to hang out with my sister and her dog. As always it went well.  Got back to the jeep, tossed the dog inside, gave her a drink. went and petted sisters dog bye.  And off we left.

Get home, where is the lead.. arrrrgh. left it on the roof of the jeep. Long gone.  there is 40 bucks out the window. It's a special kind, dont want any other kind for 'controlled walks'. Its sort of a steering wheel for their face, goes over their snout, but does NOT impeded their mouth or anything. Our trainer uses them exclusively. )

Wandered around the 'rustic' trail a bit before we hit the 'official' one that is paved.   Samhain festival was yesterday and part of it is to 'hauntify' the trail. They didn't get it all cleaned up yet.  Didn't pass up the chance for a picture. She wasn't impressed  lol

And ya, we wear camo so the trail cams dont pick us up and report back to the county.  LoL, ok shes been chewing lately, and those shirts stop it. And since it was in the upper 50s, not worth the hassle to remove and put it back on.

And why is it any time me and my dog go to social, all the dogs always tend to congregate around me to frolic with the other dogs, instead of the trainers or their owners?

I'm constantly tripping over the silly things until they get tired, then they all just seem to follow me around the room ( we walk around the edges near the walls, while the dogs do their thing in the middle, so they don't 'focus' on us )

You should be elated.

In horse world, if a horse stops doing whatever she is doing in order to come closer to you and resume, it means she likes you.

I guess it beats leaving the dog on the roof.

On the other hand, they might like that!

~ 4" of snow last night.

Dog one.. goes out rolls in it without a 2nd thought.

Dog two.. looks out the door at the snow, looks at me, the snow, me.. then walks out.  Does her thing then goes back in the garage and waits.
