I was planning on being World Emperor.    My throne will be down at the south pole.   Remember one of my first decrees was to make python the official programming language of the earth.

And whats wrong with the olive garden now? Not been to one in perhaps 30 years, but it didn't seem too bad back then.

Using data from a number of astronomical surveys including the Dark Energy Survey and the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument, the researchers predict that this "Big Crunch" will occur in approximately 33.3billion years.

With the universe currently 13.8billion years old, this gives Earth and everything else roughly 20billion years before entering oblivion, according to the study.

( i know, its just science, but the way it was framed in the article was 'the end is coming'..  20+ billion years..  who cares.. other than the idiots "we must find a way to stop the expansion/compression cycle, its Human's fault! "

Over 100.

I guess some of the camp 'supervisors' were writing the kids names on their arms with markers, knowing they were all going to be washed away soon..

I accidentally clicked on the video of Walz making the announcement.  What the F is that person beside him doing? That is not how you do sign language, that was more like a comedy mime act..  That was insulting. ( well, he is too, but that's another topic )

Raising the Walz topic:

Having to stand next to Walz on a stage was enough of an insult as it is. He deserves it back at him.

When he was VP candidate he lost his home county of Blue Earth County, Minnesota. I wish he could lose the governors' race in Hennepin County but that would be too much to ask. (You might actually think I was local!)

How odd.  Perhaps suicide, or a failed terror event.

A pair of switches that control the fuel supply to the engines were set to "cutoff" moments before the crash of Air India Flight 171, according to a preliminary report from India's Air Accident Investigation Bureau released early Saturday in India.

Indian investigators determined the jet was properly configured and lifted off normally. But three seconds after takeoff, the engines' fuel switches were cut off. It's not clear why.

According to the report, data from the flight recorders show that the two fuel control switches were switched from the "run" position to "cutoff" shortly after takeoff. In the cockpit voice recording, one of the pilots can be heard asking the other "why did he cutoff," the report says, while "the other pilot responded that he did not do so."

Moments later, the report says, the fuel switches were returned to the "run" position. But by then, the plane had begun to lose thrust and altitude. Both the engines appeared to relight, according to investigators, but only one of them was able to begin generating thrust.

Not sure the best place for this, but this is a total WTF moment.

Yes, he may have 'done it', not discounting this.  And of course, what you do on a commercial cloud application is not truly private. Sure, you do stupid stuff in public it can be held against you. But creating a fake image of a fire is considered evidence to be reported??!?!?

I think even Orwell would be speechless.

"A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of starting the Pacific Palisades fire in Los Angeles that killed 12 people and destroyed more than 6,000 homes in January.

Evidence collected from Jonathan Rinderknecht's digital devices included an image he generated on ChatGPT depicting a burning city, justice department officials said.

The most destructive blaze in Los Angeles' history, it was sparked on 7 January near a hiking trail overlooking the wealthy coastal neighbourhood."

I think that article is ragebait. That evidence has no chance whatsoever to make it to court and everybody knows it. Jornalists just threw the fact there to sell the news better. Chances are the news themselves are fake as fuck.

My confidence on news outlets these days is very low.

Suffices to say any event I am actually familiar with which makes it to the press is so badly missreported, I'd have to be a fool to take seriously any of the rest of the journal..

I am talking about news according to which Jack fell of his horse because a dog attacked them, when in reality Jack fell of his roof because he is to dumb to know you don't climb up a roof while it is still wet from rain.

Cool. AWS is screwed up.

My personal domain email was acting up around 7..   then started working while i was troubleshooting, then i heard AWS was hosed.  Now its effecting any incoming mail at the office, as i guess our 'mail check' SAAS service uses AWS servers as their back-end.

So far a incoming test.. 30 mins.. not arrived..  But outgoing, instant ( which does NOT get checked )
