OJ Simpson died today ... still looking for the real killer.

Wow, cloud strike really f-ed the entire planet with an update that clearly was not tested.  And i blame everyone else too, for putting such an important egg in one, cloud based, basket.

Basically took us down, still trying to recover.  Long weekend for many. 

"Omer Grossman, CIO at cybersecurity firm CyberArk, said the damage caused by this outage will be “dramatic.”

“The glitch is due to a software update of CrowdStrike’s EDR product. This is a product that runs with high privileges that protects endpoints. A malfunction in this can, as we are seeing in the current incident, cause the operating system to crash,” he said in an emailed comment.

Getting back online is unlikely to be easy, according to Grossman.

“It turns out that because the endpoints have crashed - the Blue Screen of Death - they cannot be updated remotely and this the problem must be solved manually, endpoint by endpoint. This is expected to be a process that will take days,” he added."

I guess Phil Donahue just died.

I was not into that sort of stuff, but from what little i remember, he was a decent guy and 'fair' on his shows..

And right on the tail of that, James Earl Jones has died also. I didn't think he was still alive ... I thought he died aboard the Death Star.

Yes. Its part of Plan C for when trump takes office ( since clearly plan B failed, twice ). Blame him for not being able to rescue us. 

And my understanding ( and from being part of supply chain stuff decades ago in the automotive world i do buy this ) that currently every day that they are on strike it would take a week to recover, not including the logarithmic curve of delay it causes down stream. And that also assumes we were not already stretched thin, and no natural disasters in the way ( the hurricane )
