You know what we should do? We should go out to the North Castle Diner one
evening and, like, eat dinner. Or watch other people eat dinner, in case you
keep kosher and can't actually eat there.
Would anyone go?
Would anyone go?
The one that's not there anymore, from what I heard. I suppose we can either
stubbornly go there anyway, and brown bag our dinners, eat in the parking
lot of whatever IS there now. Or we could go somewhere else.
We should have a Pizza Night at Ricardo's Pizza on Lakehurst Road just outside
of Country Lakes (New Jersey).
Once a month we did that (NetK2NE).
Lots of fun.
Oh, I won't be there - it's about 3,000 miles from here...

Pizza is good too. Shal we mail you a slice, vince?
Maybe we can go somewhere like a park. Just someone please put in a request for some summer weather again, I'm not too sure about this cold blast of air that hits me in the face lately every time I open my front door. I'll try my side door, but I honestly don't have such high hopes.
Maybe indoors after all.
Is anyone actually interested in hanging out? And who lives where now?

Over Thanksgiving weekend if you seem some stranger waving to you it will be me. I will be passing through
Maryland on my way to VA and I wave to everyone in Maryland.

Actually there's exceptionally good "NJ Authentic" pizza in Chico CA which is only a not-overly-long drive down the mountain from my house. The founders are from "Nawth Joisey" which, while not as good as Sout' Filly, will do. Particularly when any really credible alternative requires a (roughly) 3,000 mile (each way) journey.
I didn't find the place ("Celestino's") until almost a year after moving here, having resigned myself to the unthinkable - Life Without Pizza.
As you can well imagine, the discovery was cause for celebration, declaration of holiday, pardoning of Offenders Against the Crown, and other assorted expressions of Ultimate Joy.
Or you can just assume it made me happy.

Make it any of the Gaetano's, and I'll be there for a ginormous pizza steak!!!
Sinapi's Pizza Rustica, in Bedford Hills NY is my new favorite. It qualifies
as Real Pizza because it lies within the Official Pizza Radius (less than
50 miles from the Bronx). Real brick oven pizza made by real Italians. Yumyumyum.

Actually, the best pizza I've eaten in my (thusfar) entire life has been at a small place directly across the square from the StaatsOper in Munich in August 1971.
It probably isn't there today, over 40 years later, but the memory lingers strong.
And I've since been to many "pizza joints" in NYC, Philly, and spots in between.
Oh. By the way. I am a Real Italian. 100%.
I am unable to find the pizza of my youth anymore, I am not sure why. I left the area and had to return. The
places I went to at the time are long gone but there were others, and they don't seem to make it the way I
remember.
A cold rise crust is best, relatively thin, foldable. It seems thicker than I remember and the sauce isn't
as good.
DAMN IT, when I was kid.....
