The current administration was not voted in.

Personal experience for a moment: With few exceptions, most people i

knew supported the socialist ways while young..  Once they grow up

they stopped and realize its a bad thing.   I know very few adults

here that support it today.

Denial ain't just a river in Asia. There's no fixing a problem if you ignore it. Regardless of how you think the election was stolen, the deep state undermining Trump for his entire term weren't milennials, the ruling party in congress aren't made up of milennials, the money funding the steal didn't come from milennials, and whether deliberately or via coerced ballot harvesting there were a ton of geezers who voted against Trump. The MSM propaganda machine isn't driven by milennials, the woke corporations aren't headed by milennials (for the most part), the schools brainwashing your children aren't taught by milennials. The swamp creatures running DC and most blue states and cities today have been spewing their radical bullshit since before my generation was even born. You can't now say it's my generation's fault they're in power. They were here when I got here, and because you let them get away with it, they've made my generation insufferable to be around!

You may not know any, but I know or am one acquantaince removed from a ton of boomers and gen-xers who fall anywhere on the spectrum from politically clueless but anti-Trump to Democrat and oblivious that the Democrats are the party of Marxists to hard-core BLTFPGABET+/- useful idiots. Some of these people are immigrants and don't seem to "get" the fundamental foundational philosophies of this country. Others are just institutionalized trash who think the solution to everything is through heavy handed governance. And some are wealthy and powerful business people who just drink the kool-aide, and those confuse me the most. Maybe they're secretly afraid of cancel culture or something, I don't know.

Most milennials I know are just politically clueless. I bet most of them don't even show up to vote, or couldn't fill out a mail in ballot. I'm not saying there aren' milennials voting, but it's myopic as hell to blame it all on one generation. This is a problem that's been brewing since probably WWI or earlier, and getting progressively (no pun intended) worse with each successive generation.

Was only really only meaning to disagree with the statement you made about 'us old people' voting this mess into office. ( in effect ) Wasn't really about 'how do we fix it'.

My opinion is that it cant be fixed.  At least not until it collapses totally and people get tired of living in a 3rd world nation-state run by fascists.  This is 2 fold:  1 - They cheat, did cheat are cheating and will continue to cheat.  2 - the upcoming young people programmed to support socialism will outnumber the rational people here really soon. By the time they grow up, it will be too late and they will be eating rats and bugs to survive.

Resigning to the enviable collapse isn't really ignoring it. Its accepting a reality that cant be changed. The better plan now is how does one survive it. I also personally think that in the end, no one does.  Its a matter of time before the collapse swallows everyone other than the top end federal government elite.  Even the ones that feel they are insulated. They just delay their joining the rest of us.  Eventually even the ones in the government will feel the wrath of the collapse when their way of life ends. They may retain power, but power over what? After collapse its not like they can use their worthless money to buy fancy clothes, or food. There wont be any after all the producers are also  pounded into the pavement. That is my personal goal to weather the coming storm long enough for when i am gone.  Unsure if that will be possible at the logarithmic increase in speed of destruction we are witnessing.

Now, as far as the milennials not being the same around you as they are here, and older folks voting the wrong way, perhaps its regional, and your area is different than mine.  I do live in a mostly conservative area. All i can speak to on that is my own experience, not what i have 'heard', since i trust no source of information unless i can verify somehow. And i dont think i blamed ALL on them, but i do feel they are a major part of our future demise as they are programmed to want socialism and the collapse of what made us a great nation in the first place. By force if need be.

And yes. i will clearly admit there are exceptions to every rule. There are good and bad people in every group, i'm only talking about overpowering averages. The ones that end up 'moving the dial'.

Certainly Boomers owe a huge part of the responsibility, as grandparents - for pushing their radical 60's hippy shit on their grandchildren - and Gen X for typically not giving a fuck and leaving people to figure shit out for themselves, including small, not-fully-formed people...

But overall WE warned them. People like me. We told them, we saw it coming for a long time, we saw how they hid it... and they ALL told us to take off our tin foil hats and stop spitting conspiracy theories.

I remember when they started up with the talk about how "libertarians" were basically "privileged, straight white male IT workers," and I was like, "Oh no... here it comes." They weren't *wrong* about it - but they made it sound like the only reason we wanted Libertarian values was because it gave us permission to run rough-shod over women, LGBTs and minorities. It was never *exclusive* - just like AD&D and video games and the tech community. No one but straight white guys and straight Asian guys ever really took the open door invitation.

And now - I've got a certain amount of faith in Elon Musk that he really *is* one of us. He is probably difficult, and socially awkward, and demanding, and impatient and what people who are not as smart call "arrogant". I bet a lot of us fit that profile. I mean... I *know* we do - and by "us" and "we" here I mean... the kind of people who use bulletin board systems and drink up technology and tend to be libertarian leaning. I think his INTENT is just like what would make him hack and bring down some BBS in the 80s where the sysop was being a douche. He doesn't like injustice, he doesn't like those in power being assholes to the disempowered, he feels like an outsider - and he is SMART enough to figure out how to really *fuck* with anyone who pisses him off. And Twitter has pissed him off.  When I say "We warned them," that is what I mean. The people who said shit in the 90s like, "all information wants to be free," and believed that the Internet would route around censorship and the suppression of information. Elon probably *hated* Microsoft in the 90s and loved WinNuke-ing Windows machines. He probably scores super low on agreeableness. And I think he *will* make Twitter a more open, more democratic, more even, equitable platform that gives a voice to EVERYONE... if only because "fuck those other guys on the other side."

And WE always said if that OTHER side got enough influence - they would be way more terrible than any of the boogeymen on the Right - and we were correct. Twitter and all of the mainstream media is having a fucking meltdown because Elon Musk has tried to use $40 billion of his own money to empower FREE SPEECH. Their argument, "That isn't what he'll use it for!"

It isn't what THEY'RE fucking using it for, and they've said they don't BELIEVE in allowing it to be used for that. What they mean is...

"We're afraid he'll use it for what WE'RE using it for - promotion of our OWN interests... and HIS own interests aren't OURS!"

And Millennials are falling for this "The Billionaire is a bad man" bullshit. Multimillionaire celebrities, journalists, entertainers, Left pundits - are all saying, "Imagine how much good Elon could do for the poor if he just gave $40 billion to the poor."

When he is claiming to try and give them something MORE important - the platform to be HEARD - and they CLEARLY are afraid of that.

Without ever considering the LAST guy who ran Twitter - Jack Dorsey - was a multiBILLIONAIRE too - and no one in power THEN minded.

So... who are the cunts in charge? The Left. Firmly. And they're terrible people. They're liars, they're authoritarians, and they're TERRIFIED of the people having a VOICE that they can't control. They're ESPECIALLY terrified of the RIGHT getting equal time in the public dialog. So - if you're not *them*... the rest of us are the *WE* I'm talking about. Not a generation, not a gender, not an ethnicity - the WE who see the Left for what it is - the machine of tyranny and oppression and lies.

That is the "we" I'm talking about.

Rant, set and match.

Agree with you completely - and I suppose by then, it won't be our
problem - and they'll have to figure out their own fucking mess.

We warned them - a LOT. What else can we do. They're going to have to
learn the hard way.

This is the shit I was talking about in my vaccine mandate rant. Who's "we"? Look at who's in power today, who's pushing these agendas, and who's voting for these motherfuckers. They're not milennials. Boomers and gen X have been delinquent, they handed the keys and their children to the communists for indoctrination and now they're checking out and blaming the takeover on the indoctrinated children.

Reminds me of a Camero i had.   ( late 80s, irocZ ) If you had a 305, or 350 and wanted to change back right spark plug, from the official GM manual: "Step one 1 - Remove engine x inches...  "  No, I'm not kidding.

I just drilled a 1" hole in the inner fender, and covered that with a rubber piece after i was done.  Stupid ass engineers.

Or, one of my Eldorados.  There was a sensor on the transmission, ( turbine shaft speed ) that could have been anywhere in a 360 degree arc.. but noooo cant have it too easy, so they put it in a place that you had to remove a motor mount to get to it.   or hiding the starter under the intake manifold..  WTF.

I forgot.  running joke for a long time was that on the assembly line, it started out with a single spark plug going down he line, and they assembled the car around that..

I have seen variatins of that in network engineering. Including design of basic network protocols.

CAR!

Today I placed my order for a brandy-new 2023 Ford Escape ST-Line Select Hybrid AWD.  It's gonna be RED!  So the rideshare industry has this stupid rule that a car must be less than 10 years old, which means I can no longer use my 2013 Scion xB after 31 Dec 2022.  So, new car is needed.

As for names, it's gonna be either CarBSD or CatBSD.

Let me guess, tey probably also have a rule that you can't put ears and whiskers and a tail on it. Boring rideshare people.

(Some number of years ago, my daughter and her girl scout troop did that to my truck and entered it as a float in a parade)

There are no rules against vehicular decorations aside from having logos of competing companies.  When you work for a rideshare company, you can't have any logos from their direct competitors on the car.  Other than that, they don't care.
