He's the doofus who said he was concerned about putting too many troops on one side of Guam because it might tip over.

I love trees. Grew up first 8 years of my life in a forest.   But man, they ruin the idea of using solar panels.

Trees are nature's solar panels.

And yeah, I hear that rain forests are surprisingly open beneath the canopy for that same reason.

PLace solar panels on the tree (leaving space for light to reach the tree too)

Its a nice idea but tree is some 40'    and its not mine. Neighbor's tree blocks light in the afternoon/evening  .. Sure, great for hot days to keep the house cooler, but sucks for putting out panels.  My tree that i have left back there, there is plenty of ground around the yard it does not shade out.

If i get to move.. that will be a requirement. some flat area out back or something.

May be going with ground mount. Testing some spots against the fence line the next few days. Wont be perfect but may be 'good enough'.

if i go that route, ill put down some patio pads ( concrete or rubberized ) to give it a flat base and cut down on not being able to easily mow behind them ( or it turning to mud if the grass dies out )..  Add some bracing, and use concrete cinder blocks around each post to hold it all down during the inevitable storm.   Plan A ( on my shed roof ) is just not going to work due to the trees.  And i really don't want to start putting things on my house roof. ( for a variety of reasons, one important one is not adverting i have power if everything collapses this fall, and becoming a target )

I sympathise with not wanting to drill your roof full of holes.

I just placed all my gear on an abbandoned tennis field nobody was using.

You can actually use spots with partial shade for your panels, but you may need microinverters if it is very bad. I have found placing multiple arrays in different spots that get light at different times of the day is simpler than trying to game it with microinverters. Panels are not the most expensive part of the deployment anyway.

What if Red Skull and Hydra, were actually the good guys, trying to clean up the universe from eventual collapse, just in a "not nice way".. And Cpt America and Shield were trying prevent it and let the cruft remain in place to remain in power, and it was all a gas-light marketing job by Shield?

Much like Thanos, Red Skull thought he was saving the universe and The Avengers were just preventing it.

Genghis Khan  killed perhaps 60 million just because he wanted power.

Stalin killed around 10 as they didn't fit his narrative..

Hitler killed 6 million people as he didn't like them.

And of course countless tyrants before and them, with their varied agendas

What if we millions of people dying, and countless millions more innocent animals dying, many suffering in the process, but our leader has the cure, but just isn't bothered to give it out..  Or wakes up one morning in a bad mood, wipes out most of the planet, and makes them all suffer as they die.  What sort of agenda might this one have?

You mean to tell me that living alone and not leaving my house for days at a time while spending my evenings trying to perfect my personal version of FORTH is not a healthy lifestyle??

I think that is a great, healthy lifestyle. Just remember to take energy drinks regularly. Do you Americans have Power Horse over there?

If we do, I've never heard of it. I generally just stick to water, myself.

Once in a while I've come across a forest that looks like that, typically with coniferous trees (pines etc). The space underneath is cool and shady, and there's often a blanket of shedded needles on the ground ... it has a mood like no other, it's really wonderful.

I want to get that look in the wooded area of my property, but the deciduous trees just aren't quite dense enough, and/or the area is probably too small and there's sunlight coming in from the sides, so there's a lot of brush at the bottom.

I'd like to try that too. I've got plenty of sunlight and I don't want to mess with the roof. Putting it on the "someday" list.
