Sounds like your cats all need to have a setup that dispenses kibble in response to kitty turning an exercise wheel.
I don't think he is happy about it but at least he has to work for it.

maybe make something different so he has a little more variety?
the monster is an indoor/outdoor cat, but we do leave her shut in when we're at work, so I wanted something to keep her occupied a bit. now that she's got this thing figured out, however, she usually empties it of 4-5 treats within minutes. we'll try to find something that doesn't fit through quite as easily, but, eh.
Thank you, I have seen some variations of one or two of those. That ball thing I posed before goes inside one
of those toys that has a round ball trench and the cat can bat the ball around the circle. He seems to like
that every once and a while. He has figured out how to get the ball out. Golf balls fit in it, they are
slightly bigger and make it harder to pull the ball out. If you put several golf balls in it and put food in
between the golf balls he has to figure out how to move the golf balls to get to the food and then get the food
out when he finds it.
I had one of those egg shaped toys, he was unempressed.

To try and "impress" a cat is a futile exercise.
It ends up with a cat that thinks you're stupid for trying.
Cats are more clever than humans.
I don't go for impressing the cat.. My only goal is for them to learn that
I can hold them up against the ceiling and they can try to claw and bite all
they want, it's not going to work. Now they may go to the bathroom in my bed
to get even, but they learn that I have a very effective method for immediate
issues.
yeah. you can not discipline a cat. it doesn't work. they can't really make the mental connection between unwanted behavior and discipline, anyway...
My first Siamese (Oliver, choc. point) had the most creative way of getting
even with me that I've seen.
I would do something which, unbeknownst to me, would piss him off.
He would be fine - all day - all evening.
After I was asleep, he'd stick his nose all the way into one of my shoes...
...and...
PUKE.
In the morning, at least afer the first time he did this, it would be...
Feet into socks.
Then on with the ... YUCK! What IS that!!
Talk about feline creativeness....

Not always true.
But... it has to be on The Cat's terms.
My Abby loves hugs, but only short ones, and she lets you know.
That's why God gave cats claws!

Sometimes my cat will start to lick you when you hug him... (Tuna breath) but the tail starts going and for a
cat that means it is displeased. He rarely scratches, what he does as a warning is fake a bite, he will open
his mouth and reach for you. If he does reach you he never bites down but quickly moves back. That is his way
of saying stop. Sometimes it is a nip, a quick couple of licks, and the look.

Ahhhhh, the Look.
I swear that cats must have all at one time gone to Catholic School.
The Look - that thing the Nuns do!
"From My Eyes to the Mind Of God - so STOP NOW!"
Yup. That's definitely a Cat/Nun Thing!!

Cat Nun!
Silent as the night, but twice as deadly... she's steal upon you when you aren't looking and BEAT YOUR KNUCKLES OUT!
Cat Nun never purrs, always Looks. They'll sneak onto your bed and STEAL YOUR BREATH!

...and then will send a note home to your mommy, who will beat you for "making the Nun mad"...

Some people disregard Cat Nun, AT THEIR OWN PERIL!!

Some people disregard *any* Nun at their own peril.
