a) Freak - Upstate is a perspective from where you stand. I went to school at Clarkson in Potsdam. There is virtually no further upstate.

b) IG - Who is letting Indian Point close down? Methinks you're part of the location of the commie group that's doing that. By implication since you live there you must be for it. <GRIN>

I said it purposely because I know you live "downstate"   Eastern Long Island is fairly red.  NYC and the professors at SU ruin everything.

is *NOT* upstate.

Anything north of 42nd st is called "Canada."

If you look at the name of a town, city or village and can not pronounce it, you are in "upstate" NY.

If you know that Clinton isn't in Clinton county you are in upstate NY.

If you know that Madison is in Oneida county and Oneida is in Madison county you are in upstate NY.

If you have been to Berlin, Hamburg, Warsaw, Russia, and Poland you are in upstate NY.

I propose that instead of dividing New York, we implement our own electoral college. Each county getting votes based on population. It's the only way to offset the city without destroying the State in the process.
