I have argued before that climate alarmists don't even believe their own doomsaying, and you know this because they don't act on it. If you were truly convinced that, without some kind of intervention, we were on path to irreversibly destroy the planet within the next decade or whatever, would you sit around and watch the politicians fail at it and then gnash your teeth? If your life, or even the future of the planet, is really at stake, then isn't it time to take up arms and do something about it? Isn't it time to quit your job and devote your life to it?
I have to apply the same logic to US politics. Are we an occupied nation? Is our country really lost? If we really believe that, then when is it time to quit my day job and do something about it?
To be clear, I'm not intending to trumpet the call to arms. I don't want to
fight in a war. I just wish there were something I could do that I thought
would help. In my day job, I tend to be one of the guys who people bring their
problems, and I resolve them. I'm a fixer. But I don't know how to fix my
country, and it bothers me.
There is only one fix now.
