(NYC is the biggest radio market in the world, and not a single f***ing station carried Dr. Demento. I really missed out.)
I'd like to thank Mr. Foobar for the fact that "Everybody wants to rule the
world..." is going through my head right now.
so I'm taking my youngest to the ACL Music Festival for her birthday. We've
been adding artists to the interactive lineup for a while now, and they recently
posted the interactive schedule. To add people to the schedule you have to
go back to the artist page and click "add to schedule" for each one... and
then there is an app for the phone, which has no way to logon, so if you want
to use the app you have to enter everyone AGAIN. What a pain!
for caving to Sinatra's lawyers and bleeping "offensive" passages in the remastered release of KILLING IS MY BUSINESS...AND BUSINESS IS GOOD!.
Pomplamoose combines the talents of Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn, both
of whom perform interesting works of popular styles of music.
Unfortunately, Jack Conte has been handling Patreon (I think he's the
CEO), so he hasn't been doing as much music, and this has slowed down
some of Pomplamoose's progress, but they still do some relatively quick
covers regularly.
They just posted a video telling the story of what they've been up to. They moved to a new home, Conte is spending most of his time on Patreon, and they switched to a new style of doing one-off music videos (mostly covers and mashups) with some decent session musicians. They're done with Bust Your Kneecaps style pieces where the videos took a month to make, but they're making more videos and more music now.
It's not what it used to be, but it's decent. And compared to mainstream crud, very listenable.

Speaking of which, I'm in the market for guitar effects again ... my Line6 "Pocket Pod" has developed a noise problem that's making it unusable, and my old analog pedals sound like crap. I need something that is simple, versatile, and that won't break the bank.
Any recommendations? I haven't even started looking. I need a couple of basic effects ... some reverb, some chorus, a bit of compression, and enough distortion to be crunchy but not face-melting. The ability to switch between a couple of different presets using a pedal would be a big plus.
Standard disclaimer: I love playing my guitar but I'm not very good at it, so I'm not above using anything that would be a "crutch".
Don't know what your budget is, but you can look at the Line 6 big brother
to the Pocket Pod, like the M5 Stompbox.... But if you want to step up your
pedal game, look at the Boos GT-100.
