I was over at gasbuddy.com and reading the forum rules. I saw rule #7:
7. Hitler doesn’t post here, so there is no good reason to bring him up, except in a strict historical context. To
avoid arguments on the forum, we respectfully request you not use Hitler references.

You must not defame Dear Father. Wait, I might need to make another room to continue this. No, I misspoke. You must not defame der Führer.
During the 2012 presidential campaign I repeatedly voiced my obviously conservative
beliefs and positions on the various GasBuddy posting topics.
I received a 'notice' from the GasBuddy "administrators" to cease and desist.
I very politely (for me) told them to shove THAT up their ass, and if they tried ANYTHING to limit my right to free speech I would happily follow that up with litigation in the federal court seeking injunctive relief or as the alternative a court order shutting down their web site.
Last time they EVER said ANYTHING about my postings, which continued without interruption.

I'm confused. How is their limiting opinions on their own site (odious as that might be) limiting your right to free speech?
I questioned that also Sig, it is their site.
I do see a lot of anti-liberal, anti-Obama messages.
I apparently posted enough replies to reach "obama lover" level.

Ooh! On my other forums, that level was known as "Pooh-Bah" or "Carpal Tunnel."
I reached that level after about 10 years, then got myself banned, on purpose... long story involving local politics. Local politics are far more toxic than national, I hope nobody here ever has to deal with this kind of shit,

Irrelevant.
They pissed me off; I wanted them to fuck off; I threatened massively expensive litigation; they would need a lawyer, and I would **not**; they went away; I ended up very pleased. "Das Ende."
So threatening frivolous litigation to force private parties to allow you
a platform for your opinions is appropriate, in your mind? I learn something
new every day.
Reminds me of the time a child molester threatened to sue me and take my domain
name away by legal force.

All politics are local loanshark! Or so I was told.
Scale matters in my book. When you're a town of a couple thousand people, and people start to get a pretty good idea of who supports what, and some of the policies have been deemed repugnant and illegitimate by a vocal minority, then, you have a recipe for a real toxic waste dump of vile sludge... violence (or at least targeted vandalism) tends to ensue. Fairly glad I don't actually *live* in the town in question -- it's only my playground...
Come and see the violence inherent in the system?
No, unfortunately many of my friends are negative impacted by two-bit pissing contests that shouldn't really concern them.

The Law and the Court Systems that support the Law are Life Tools like anything else.
If you know how to use them, you can do that to your advantage.
If not, "sucks to be you."
Well, keep studying, I guess. I hope no lawyer ever takes you up on that, for their sake.

Are we talking about the shutdown again? I'm confused.
