If that is true, then i will change my stance to just
eradicating the government.. My understanding was there was
mostly support for it and what it stands for. But i dont live
there, so it may be biased info i have.Tue Jun 17 2025 17:43:22 UTC from darknetuser
That paragraph makes me kind of sad because let's just say
most iranians I know oppose the current regime.
I would not dare give hard statistics, but iranians I know definitively have the notion the government is corrupt at best and there have also been some protests regarding the bombings.
Forget I said that. It aged horribly.
Sun Jun 15 2025 14:55:18 UTC from SouthernComputerGeekWhy is Trump being so weak on Iran?
Direct war involvement by the weekend?
Hey, perhaps they will reinstate the draft, i have a couple of "people" ( i hate to call them that, they are really sub-humans ) id like them to come collect and drop off out there.
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. military is deploying more fighter aircraft to the Middle East and extending the deployment of other warplanes, bolstering U.S. military forces in the region as the war between Israel and Iran rages, three U.S. officials said.
One of the officials said the deployments include F-16, F-22 and F-35 fighter aircraft"
So hello from the middle east where ww3 is already happening. Today iran bombed a hospital; fortunately, there were only light injuries as patients had already been moved to shelters. Yesterday, I found out that at least half of the operating suites at one of our biggest hospitals are in a sheltered area.
I was there for a siren while my husband was having surgery (in the mouth, infection from an impacted wisdom tooth. He's recovering well)
Times are completely crazy here. I actually fell asleep at a normal time last night, and was woken a short time later by sirens. My 17-year-old is feeling very fed up. The other kids are sort of enjoying being off of school.
Miss 17 has one more exam and is supposed to be graduating next week. They can graduate even if they haven't finished the exam - there's a certificate for 12 years of schooling from the school, and a separate matriculation certificate that includes the exam grades which is from the country. Since her plan for next year is national service, not having grades doesn't mean much. She won't apply to colleges for at least 1 year, more likely 2 - if she applies at all - her current thought is that she wants to be a party planner, and I told her that I don't think it makes sense to do a ba for that.
Israel doesn't have a liberal arts degree and I don't think you need a full business degree for party planning anyway - She can probably do a local course in starting a small business and maybe some online courses in party planning specifically.
Anyway, the point is that she's in limbo - she's had a really rough year, mental-health wise, and I wish just something could be normal for her :(
I don't know your personally, but i support your people, and i feel bad that you have to go thru all of this, yet again. Best of luck to you and your family during this mess.

Well he just proved us both wrong.
Fri Jun 20 2025 18:35:19 UTC from ZoeGraystoneThat is because Putin pushed back. Trump always backs down when pushed. Weakling.
Anybody else remember when congress used to have to declare war for the
US to get involved? Ah, who am I kidding? It hasn't worked that way at
least in my lifetime.
"Dear Iran: please move your terrorist leaders and nuclear weapons away from their current locations. There are bunker busters on the way and we wouldn't want them to get damaged.
Sincerely,
Rand Paul and AOC"
That's why he didn't get congress involved.
So Trump just went out of his way to save the Iranian regime. I just burned my MAGA hat. I'm sick of his BS.
Welcome to the club.

Ironically, at the moment I think that's exactly what Trump did himself. "You wouldn't agree to a deal, so I'm slapping you on the wrist. You have 3 hours to evacuate these sites." And then I think Iran did the same for us with their "retaliation."
I guess this is what negotiations look like in the ME. I sure is an expensive way to do it, though.
Yes, Mr. President. See the light! Get us the hell out of this clusterfuck and let them mop the desert with each other. If you need to fight anyone, let's invade Mexico already.
Well that was disappointing. But i guess not real surprising, a lot of hot air 'marketing' like always, but no real results of any lasting value.

In the islamic world, negotiating at all is perceived as weakness.
