Well all things considered, moving it to a calmer location is a logical decision.
However, rejecting applications, that is rather disappointing.
Thu May 02 2024 17:10:44 EDT from darknetuserBy the way, I was readng in Linux Magazine that DebConf24 has moved from Israel to South Korea due to the ongoing conflict.
A quick scan on the Internet suggests the move is more political than practical. I think the Debian team at Israel has had their applications rejected 3 or 4 times already. If I was a team member from Israel I would start focusing on a different distribution.
I disagree. Criticising any professional victim group today is very
dangerous. It is not only the jewish who are protected by law and
practice.
Like I said ... victimhood is fungible. This morning I watched video of the "protest" encampment at NYU being broken up by law enforcement. The pride flag and BLM flag were bigger than the "kill the j00z" flag.
These dumbass kids wouldn't be able to find "palestine" on a map.
Bigotry is repulsive no matter who does it. But it has to be *real* bigotry, not the manufactured kind. You know what I find the most amusing of all?
There are people out there who are claiming TEH J00Z are responsible for the anti-jewish protests.
Its sort of fun watching the cops tear it down.
Its too bad they were far too kind to the occupying criminals. The one that sprayed an unknown substance at the cops faces, should have been eradicated in an instant. The line was crossed.

Do you know how everybody has a good reason, and then a real reason? I agree that Israel might not be the best place right now for a conference, but rest assured that isn't the reason why they are getting rejected every single time.
Right, i was trying to separate the 2 pieces.
Does not mean their overall intent was good, just that part A was not a bad idea in general.

Hmm . Drone footage showing ucla rioters being "trained" in hand to hand combat, in preparation for the police coming.
Sure, ineffective. Cant train a bunch of whiny ass entitled children at the last minute, but it does show what is going on. Professional outsiders, trying to start a war.

Sure. I've seen the trillions of United Nations meetings where their only reason for gathering is to issue a condemnation against Israel. Honestly, terrorist nations shouldn't be permitted to join the UN. Also, the United States should stop funding the UN. It serves no useful purpose.
I'm not an Israel fanboi either, but I *am* strongly anti-islamofascist.

My daughter comes home from school (SUNY Purchase) every day freaked out about the protests and conflicts that are going on there. It's getting out of hand, like it is on nearly all campuses. Today she showed me an "open letter"
that was sent from a group of professors to the president of the college, complaining about how badly the protesters were treated when the protests got riotous and were broken up.
Imagine that. Colleges have been training people to be entitled, victimized, whiny crybabies for half a century, and now it's coming back to bite them.
I say let the victim class eat itself!
All part of the plan. The coordinators want another kent-state like event.

And why the F are cities adding the symbol of Muslims and the Palestinian star/colors to their flags. Those responsible should be ridiculed and expelled from the country.
Im sure people like O and his handlers rejoice every time. Grrrr
Lol
We protest, and get ignored.
We riot and go to jail.
Hey, lets stage a hunger strike ( and get laughed at )
Regardless of whether you consider the piece of land spiritually important or not, how can you, in good conscience, advocate annihilating enormous parts of PLANET EARTH!? (and therefore millions of people) Have you lost your mind!?

As a devout member of one of the three religions that lays claim to Jerusalem -- I am ok with Zel's idea of just turning the entire region into something uninhabitable by ANYONE. You see, we don't assign any value to the land itself aside from as a historical site. When Jesus said "IT IS FINISHED" -- He *meant* it. All of that old-covenant shit is irrelevant now. So yes, if the entire tract of land from the south shore of the Mediterranean to the southern tip of Africa was wiped out -- no big loss.
The earth will survive no matter what we do. It was here long before us, and will be here long after. its been thru far worse than we could ever dream of doing to it. ( and worse is coming.. .in a few billion years when the sun eats it as the sun slowly turns into a red giant )
Humans, are temporary.

The punishment should fit the crime. Throw them off the roof,

[BI probably wouldn't be able to get myself to push the button even if I had the opportunity. It's fun to talk smack though.
That having been said, I *would* like to see the violent ideology wiped off the map instead of watching it spread.
Surprised? Of course not. Once again, to a college airhead, victimhood is fungible. Most don't even know what they're protesting. And of course names like Soros and Gates are showing up on the funding bankroll [https://tinyurl.com/36js8b87].
Meanwhile, the senile potato is claiming that "there are very fine people on both sides" of the Israel vs. Terrorism war [https://tinyurl.com/4ytady6p].
This stopped being about the section of Israel occupied by terrorists a long time ago. The original fuel for the fire has been completely consumed; now all that's burning is the additional gasoline that keeps being thrown onto it.
As long as i was guaranteed no legal retaliation or anything, i would have zero issue doing it.
But that should surprise no one.

Most dont care why. I think they fall into 2.5 main camps ( pun fully intended )
1 - They are being paid, as its their job
2 - They just want chaos. Either to tear it all down, or its fun to scream and yell and be the center of attention.
