But some of us would say the opposite about that same list, and they are products of lying and cheating and stealing. ( and one, never existed in the first place.. and was created as a vehicle to lie and cheat others.. Much like the 'promise' the others put out as they destroy things, who are unfortunately, existed in reality. )

When the powerful elite build their lives around lying cheating and stealing, the one thing they cannot tolerate existing is the genuine article.
Accidents do happen but i try to refrain from it.
Actually watched another movie last night ( ok, not truly TV, but it was i on my TV, and i streamed it from tubi since i cant get CC to work properly in jellyfin yet... lol ) Fifth Element.
Sun Dec 28 2025 22:15:33 UTC from PanaSonicI didn't see Nurb in 5 consecutive rooms, change the topic from something at least vaguely on topic, to "How Much I Love (something completely off topic)".
Now, back to Television :-D
and i think tonight is a good night to watch some Adams family. The real one, with the amazing Carolyn Jones.
Grr freaking auto-destruct.. Changed the spelling i freaking know how to spell it leave my typing alone!! . **** Addams ***..

The Netflix reboot where Mulder is TG and Scully is black, and a lesbian?
Oooh. I just can't wait!
Tue Dec 30 2025 19:15:13 UTC from Nurb432X-files reboot in the works. I have one thing to say:
NOOOOOOOOOOO
It was inevitable, there are only a finite number of things left to ruin.
Not to mention, the public perception of the FBI isn't anywhere near what it was 30 years ago.
This is one of those 1984 things - where they tell us,
"You can't trust the FBI."
"Oh, now it is OUR FBI, you can trust it..."
"Nope, you can't trust it again."
And at some point, I don't know what I can and can't trust. Which the conspiracy theorists say is the goal - to make it so you don't trust anything. Then you're basically a Communist Soviet Era Citizen - you just agree, so you don't disappear.

Tho a bit OT for the room but related to the above:
1984 ended up being a blueprint. He wrote it too well.
It showed on TV... so... on topic.
But yes. He was also a leftist - as I understand it. He was concerned about Right extremism.
Which isn't invalid. It isn't a linear line from Left to right.... it is a ring - I love those examples, that show fascism and authoritarianism at the bottom of the ring - right next to one another.
I get that. I don't want FAR right. I'd be a political dissident so fast. The same as the far left.
I just don't get why so many right leaning people seem to get this - but so few LEFT leaning people will agree. The extremes end up at the same point - "if you don't agree, you are a danger and should be re-educated or eliminated."
I want discourse and disagreement and compromise. If I were emperor of the world - the world would be a perfect place... for ME alone. Everyone else would be miserable.
So I don't want that, unless I get to be king.

Let me explain. Saturday night, I was downtown, working for the FBI...
You only work for the FBI as party of your plea agreement for whatever shit you got caught for in the late 80s.
I know you.
I do not know who The Hollies are - but if they made cracking demos - it is possible. :)
Mon Feb 16 2026 23:43:26 UTC from IGnatius T FoobarSo you're saying The Hollies were federal informants?
The Hollies were the band that recorded "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" , the song from which I quoted that line.
I'm listening to the end jam of Freebird on an original pressing on Vinyl on my 1977 Sansui deck right now with an Ortofon blue cart. Semi-deep audiophile shit.
It does sound incredible. It ain't Archie Bunker. We are off topic - we're discussing audio in the Television room. Let's switch it to Mayberry. What do you think were the hidden subluminal messages therein?

( sort of a rant too, but it WAS a TV show.. )
Accidentally ran across a time travel conspiracy nut show last night ( well the entire series is , but EP1, kept it under control... EP2.. nope ) . "we know the boat went back in time!!" no. its not how it works.
Even if you could move an object backwards in time, you have to also be able instantly calculate and teleport in space across vast distances, to sub-micron accuracies. Remember, the earth is rotating.. its also orbiting the sun, which is orbiting the center of our galaxy, which is also moving... You go back in time several years, if you don't magically 'relocate' you end up in the middle of space ( most likely ).. Even a an hour or so, you might just end up inside a wall, the floor, ... or another human, or whatever.. but regardless 'not the same place' and don't forget 'air' contains particles you have to account for as well.
The only time travel that is really possible is if you go really freaking fast for a long time, so your 'time perception' slows down, ( or heavy gravity.. same concept tho ) and when you return, its not the date you think it is.. but even then, you still run into the 'location' aspect. Better have a good flight plan, as empty space, or the wrong planet ( at best ) is not a good place to end up.
( and i barely had a chance to turn off the nonsense before they popped up Nikola's image to insult him, in effect. NO!! )
And really Shatner? Are you not better than this? ( and man, he does not look well )
I'm not sure I believe time is linear or that the material reality we perceive is the true existential plane.
So if you can step outside of our perception, our view of reality - the calculations you describe might be trivial. We can only see INSIDE the box. If you can see outside the box - it might not be as complex as it seems to us on the inside.
I like to describe a book - I don't think this is quite right - but as you read, the characters in the book only exist in the moment of the page YOU are reading - they have memory of the pages you've read - the history they've been through - but no idea what the future is.
You on the other hand, can easily skip a few pages ahead, or to the very end, or anywhere in between, and pick exactly where you want to be, what you want to experience. You're not in the book, you're viewing the story from the outside.

That is a mixing of "quantum observity" and time. I do believe they operate independent of each other.
