Don't do it, it's a trick. There are no cyberdemons to squash
outside.

But what about the grues?

Lol. I had to look that one up. Never played Zork, and I've never seen one while hallucinating in NetHack. I have seen a terminator and a mother-in-law, though.

Any parks or forests around you? Go and hang out for the day
outside.

I live in the middle of nowhere. It is all forest-stuff around.

I ended up staying home cleaning my filesystems from old files instead lol. So much cruft can accumulate when you hoard and hoard movies and music.

When ordering alcohol via an app (like Drizly, for example), WEAR SOME DAMNED CLOTHES WHEN ANSWERING THE DOOR!  I had an alcohol order that was placed via Drizly, and the customer was naked when she answered the door.  The worst part is she was OBESE.  Ugh. *cringe*

Used to work for a computer service company some 30 years ago. One side of the house did 'home service'. ( i was assigned corporate customers, thankfully. Only had to fill in a couple of times )  We were 3rd party, and vendor sent the wrong part on a guy over in Ohio. Home owners refused to let the guy leave until it was fixed.  He had to call 911 to be rescued. The 2 times i had to help out due to staffing, were much nicer ( including free dinner at one place ).

You never know what you will get going to a stranger's house..

My aunt and uncle would answer the door like that, when it was the religious adults going door to door. Scare them away for the season.

When I was working yesterday I took a pic of my car's dashboard.  It got up to 101F in San Antonio.

I know everyone complains about it being too hot or cold ( well, you wont hear me ever say its too cold ), i'm deadly serious about it killing me.  I have a real hard time with heat, not just being a baby and not liking it :)

Both heat and direct sunlight give me terrible migraines, which makes me really sick at times.

Bigger drives are great, but then you have to back those up. Making checksums of big volumes of information to ensure integrity takes more time the larger the dataset is, and transfering it back and forth also eats more time.

Really, you want to keep as much data as you want without storing more files than you need. I certainly don't want to store three copies of the D&D core rulebooks by mistake, I just need one :)

Thankfully, locating duplicated files can be automated.

Desktop has 2tb.  "home" is backed up via rync to an external m.2 once a week, via simple shell script.     OS/Software, i dont bother.

2 tb SSD on TV for video and music..  ( copied from the next drive down, add new stuff every so often )

2 8tb external spinny drives. One is attached 'as needed' the other is rsyned from that once a month. and kept offline otherwise.  Simple shell script here too so almost no effort on my part.

use VVV to index on the 'as needed' drive on a regular basis. ( http://vvvapp.sourceforge.net/ )

Oh, left out my nextcloud, auto sync via rsync, but its mostly copies of 'home' on my desktop anyway.  And rsync grabs auto backups from my server farm of the servers that need it..  onto another external SSD, every week or 2..

But really other than plugging a device in here and there, and hitting 'go', its painless.

I like having a whole OS/Software image.

I know. It is not needed. I can reconstruct the OS/Software stack in case of machine destruction. However, 14 GB of software stack is minuscule compared to the shitload of Tb of data I have to backup anyway, plus when you are in a crash scenario it feels so, so, so much better when you can just dump from backup in in an hour instead of spending three days installing and reconfiguring software.

I had a critical hard drive failure in a production machine last tuesday. Knowing the only thing I had to do was to put a new drive in and clone from the last backup removes so much of a burden from your shoulders...

Last time my home PC HDD failed I said I was done reinstalling and configuring my OS from scratch and that's when I started using RAID1. Of course, as being prepared usually goes, I've never had another disk fail since then. But it also makes expanding very easy. Just replace the disks one at a time, letting the array sync, and then grow the filesystem.

Aren't there rules about that sort of thing? I'm pretty sure that naked customers are only allowed to call the plumber or the pizza guy, not a booze delivery service.

ultimately, clothes are overrated anyway.  Other than weather considerations, they are a modern construct with religious origins, designed to control you and fill you with guilt.
