anarcho-capitalist, probably.
You got it.
I don't recognize laws as emanating from a legitimate entity. People only does because of so much brainwashing.
In my case its not brainwashing, i know they are not valid, but i also don't want to sit in prison... So gotta follow them.
( aside from not wanting to be there as it would suck, i have responsibilities and my animals to take care of.. )

Technically, the establishment of laws and government, and people willingly existing within that framework, is a social contract.

Even if you think that a Government is "correct" because more people voted for it than against (which in current democracies is usually false anyway, since you get franken governments like in France in which politicians with minority votes team up to displace the guys who got voted en masse)...
You will be extremely hard pressed to find parties that actually carry through with the political proposals they brandished during electoral campaigns. (Milei being one of the few exceptions that come to mind).
And therefore even if yobelieve there is such a thing such as a delegation of power from The People to The Government (which is a crap concept because you cannot delegate rights you don't have) then you will face the conflict that this is never what happens in practice -ie. people gets power delegated to do stuff then they do something else.
Being a contract, that implies you can opt out..
Cant opt out of this one...

He may just have had horrible aim.

Smells fishy.....
Doubt anyone will 'get it' but i did find it rather humorous and "tis the season"
Down the street from me, walking the healthy dog, noticed some mushrooms in their front yard. Not all that uncommon here, but it looked 'odd'. Get up to it, they grew in a perfect circle about 6' diameter.. Screams 'celtic ritual spot'.

No, but it's hysterical watching the videos of "sovereign citizens" attempting to do so.
Stories like Soylent Green, 1984, Idiocracy, Fahrenheit 451, Logan's Run, Equilibrium, or even Caprica, were not supposed to be societal blueprints. they were supposed to serve as warnings.
I always hear people trashing boomers, but most of the ones I know are good people. More and more it seems to me that Gen X is the real scum generation, worse than all that came before or after it.
Forget I said all that. I was venting frustration. Long story. Don't ask.

ok i think my view of humanity has just decreased slightly. there is actually a web page dedicated to explaining xkcd comics..
That's been around for a long time. Not really useful since XKCD stopped being funny around nine years ago.
Quite a lot of "we have proven the universe cant be a simulation, the debate is over!". Makes you wonder if someone discovered something and they are trying to cover it up and change the narrative before its too late, so that the truth looks like some conspiracy nut made it up.
One lame argument they are pushing: "mathematics cant explain bla bla". Um you mean current mathematics. Once upon a time our current level of understanding and mathematics and science could not 'explain' anything beyond how to predict the seasons.. ( go far enough back and everything was 'magic' )... Knowledge and understanding is not static, it grows and advances. Never say never, and at least use a better excuse.

I don't know how you can be in a technology oriented industry and not see how the entire universe uses reusable object oriented code. I was probably 16 or 17 playing Ultima 3 or 4 when I went, "wait - the way this game works, is the way REALITY works."
Just look at fractal geometry. From the Micro to the Macro - we live in a procedurally generated universe that creates the illusion of a far bigger universe in what must be limited resources.
When I went away - what was I doing for YOU all? I have a whole backstory to tell you what was going on - but really - I just wasn't loaded in memory from YOUR perspective.
I swear this is how the universe works. But when I was gone, what were you doing? Who are the active players and who are the NPCs? The most effective code - the NPCs and the main characters wouldn't be able to tell who was who.
Or, am i the only actual "player"? Between working with simulations in the past, and AI today who can 'express' that its real when its not, but only i know the truth. How can you really be sure anything is real other than yourself?

When someone says "the debate is over" on just about *any* topic, it's generally safe to dismiss them.
Simulation theory is fun to think about because it allows one to fantasize about breaking out of the playfield and operating outside of the game rules.
Although I don't personally believe it, the theory is solid.
Not saying it is, but if the universe was a simulation, i don't see us breaking out of the underlying structure since we are part of it. that only works in movies.
