Honestly i doubt many if you took an anonymous poll ( of those that understand what it means ). However, the people paying the officials ( donors, not tax payers ) do hate it as it effects their empires. And of course they call the shots.

*snip*.  There are people in government who hate open source, as evidenced by the office of open source control that was announced a few months back.

They are working on banning wood burning stoves too. that started a
couple of years ago.  Several states went to the fed to complain
there was not an all-out ban on them already.

The secret is you can make a wood burning stove or brazier so easily it is a moot point to ban them.

That is true for most any ban. Some of us can get around it.  But the unwashed masses cant, which make it harder for us who can.

If you get caught with a banned item you are hosed. Lets say you get a break in, call the cops, they come and see that stove in the corner, warming the house.. off to jail you go. I know people who have got in trouble for simlar, the cal the cops or firemen over due to unexpected issues, and they see something across the room.   Or your car has been modified, and while YOU are ok as you mind your own business, someone hits you, they tow your car since its not driveable, and at the shop find the mandated government interlock has been disabled.. Again, jail for you and insurance drops you.   Or even at the scene, when they scan all the cars for 'crash info' and yours comes up blank.. ( seen this with cat converters myself .. car gets towed "this was removed, you get fined", and window tint where cop comes to the scene, 'you have tint, here is your ticket too' )

I also would not put it past them to look at area bills, "why is your house using far less electric than your neighbors..  we need to inspect for your safety " and again, they find your stove. ( tho fake solar panels. "see, up there, im greeeeeen" might derail them )  I know they have shut down home grow farms like this using extra use as "probable cause for a search"  "even tho you are paying your bill, you used way to much power.. and your garage is warmer than most from our IR sensors.. what you got in there.. ooooo pot..   off to jail you go "     Lately they did that to a couple of people i heard about, but instead of finding a pot farm, it was a crypto farm.

And is it really paranoia when you have seen it happen, in other context? :)

Advantage of living in a depresed country is if mean consumption of energy is low already because people can't afford to heat the house or keep the lights on, then you don't stand out if you drop to zero, muahahahahaha

its just the beginning. Eventually it will be managed by the feds, as
they really dont want states involved in 'their work'.  I suspect

Well, that's the leftist playbook all around, isn't it -- everything is either banned or mandatory, there is no in between.

Personally I think the genie is too big to be put back into the bottle. If Microsoft couldn't kill open source operating systems, the government isn't going to be able to do it. Best they can hope to do is go at the edges of the network, but there are too many smart people to make that effective.

There is already a push for getting rid of conventional heating. It isn't really working. They are also trying to get rid of AC in the hot parts of the country by limiting the number of hours stores and retailers can have them turned on, but thing is, if you own a store you want customers to walk in so you keep it turned on full power and to the hell with everything. The issue is they end up adding the operational cost of the AC to the price of their products :-(

It is happening with transportation too. They keep adding taxes for roads and tolls and whatever, so the tax freight pays gets added to the potato you buy in the store...

I guess universally serfs dont need AC or heat, they can walk.  And eat bugs.

Barry Obama is basically just George Floyd in a suit. Equally as much of a career criminal.

Um.  Logical next steps.  Even for a non-religious type like myself, this is dumb, wrong and unfortunately expected.  Authoritarian rule cant have any religion out there, other than the 'state'.

The Canadian Human Rights Commission — an agency with broad judicial powers that is fully funded by the federal government — has declared that the celebration of Christmas is evidence of Canada’s “colonialist” religious intolerance

Perhaps, but they are setting up for the next flu-lock down : "lots of unexplained cases of respiratory issues in children in DC"   Not pushing it yet, but i can feel it coming...

And worrisome to me, there is something that is infecting dogs that is spreading, that as of yet has no official cure and is killing dogs.

And along those lines, i guess the  "Climate Agenda" must include 'decolonization' and 'repreataions' as part of its plan.

I wonder if other 'technologically advanced sentient' species in the universe also fall in the same way we are, or if they mange to survive. ( i would say 'intelligent' but humans are dumb asses )

So scumbag Liz Chaney ( cough ) got herself a book deal.  Now shes on the circuit selling her book and telling everyone to repeat the phrase  "Trump is a fascist"

Ok, fine, lets say he is. The entire world was better off with him driving the boat.  Sure, he wasn't perfect, i didnt agree with all he did, and made some horrendous, but honest, mistakes ( like trusting fauci ). He is human, like the rest of us. If that is what we get with his version of fascism, im in.  So name calling only makes them look stupid.  More and more people are finally seeing thru the nonsense. Or at least it seems to be that way.

And related. When does JR run for office?
