Agreed we have not been 'well' a long long time, but whatever we call it, its degenerated massively before our eyes the last few years. Having been around a while, its been a slow logarithmic curve i feel, and it seems like it took a dramatic upturn during Trump's run/election. it was like the left woke up one morning " this is it, our last chance to destroy everything, we have to do it, all, now... ".
I cant say if its been a world wide conscious coordinated effort to raise the bar ( and beat us with it ), or just them all feeding off each other. But it clear its planet wide, not just here in the states.

Did it became this sick in such a short time, or were we (at large) just asleep at the wheel? There are a lot of things wrong with our country that were set in motion before even my parents were born. I get the feeling that this has been cooking for a long time.

If I were single, I do not think I would have the vax. I have it like most things I have but do not want, because my wife has it.
I'm not sure that is the absolute reason. I have a certain relief that I have the vax... a certain peace. Regardless of if that is a false sense of security or not, I have it, mentally. Taking the jab and not developing any immediate severe side effects (3 times) was worth the SENSE of security afterwards.
But I agree.. the Boomers aren't NEARING retirement age - they're there. You can count them out. They're the generation who, when Trump started shaking shit up, bailed on him for being, "Too brash, too crass, too confrontational, too unprofessional." They're ALWAYS that way - by the way. Though they are the "Summer of Love" revolutionaries - they absolutely believe in old school values of some sort of moral right. It is why so many of them are such self-righteous Left leaning fruitcakes. As conservatives, Boomers are CLASSIC conservatives. They believe in law and order and behaving respectfully and Traditional Family Values. They're real Salt of the Earth Midwestern small town people.
As *liberals*, Boomers are free-range, granola eating, share equally, envision world peace, love-thy-neighbor, rainbows and sunflowers hippy pacifists. They're the ones with the sappy bumper stickers who pay it forward and give money to every homeless person they see. They believe love and positivity can change the world.
Gen X is nearing retirement age - and you can't really trust *us* - as antidisestablishmentarian as our generation has a reputation for being. What we are - largely... I mean, a lot of us are very reactionary and take a side and join that tribe and then we're very *hostile* about defending it against anyone on any OTHER side... but we're also, a lot of us, and always have been - apathetic. We totally rejected that hippy shit. We think violence changes the world, that might DOES make right, or at least, makes things happen, that everything is corrupt, that the game is rigged, and that knowing the truth won't set you free, it'll just confirm that freedom is an illusion.
The fact that there are so few millennials who think like you kind of confirms that suspicion. We're fucked.
So don't trust us either. We talk a lot of shit and like to act like we're ready to tear down the system violently and shake things up... but when things get crazy - we tend to be self-preservationists and narcissists. That was true when we didn't have anything to lose. Now a lot of us are pretty damn comfortable. and we can see the finish line... even though it isn't exactly close. I think we're trying to judge if we can make it across before things go to shit. And most of us think we can...
Which leaves you guys holding the bag - and it is one your generation has actually mostly *asked* for... so...
Gen X saw a lot of our generation make a lot of bad decisions even when their peers were warning them "this doesn't turn out good." At some point, I think a lot of us took a "Hey, it is your funeral," approach to that.
And I think we're doing that with YOUR generation now. You end up living with the results during what should be the best years of your life - not us. Hope it works out like you think it does as a generation - but I think it'll be a lot closer to what *we* think it is and you'll be unhappy with the dish you get served.

I think no matter what happens, or how, this is the final outcome. And we unfortunately get to witness it. I saw it coming when i was a kid, and I was hoping to be long gone by the time this happened. Living thru a collapse sucks, for those that dont make it but even more so for the ones that do.
Side note, not real sure what generation i am. I'm right in the grey-area at the end of boomers, and beginning of X. so i get a bit of both i guess? And, as far as 'generations' go, I do think the boomers are "less trustable" out of reality, not intent. They are getting to the point they CANT do anything, even if they wanted to.

I keep seeing this sort of sentiment and I couldn't disagree more. He knew the owners of the business he was defending and he had been there all day cleaning up and helping. To me, he comes off as genuinely there to help, which is something I wouldn't have done. I want to be Kyle Rittenhouse when I grow up.
In a just world he should be acquitted, no question. But since we don't live in a just world, I kind of think the defense should be using the prosecutor's oversteps as leverage to push for mistrial with prejudice (I know they threatened to yesterday, not sure if they actually followed through). I wouldn't want to bet my life on any jury actually making an objective ruling.
Seeing the prosecution and The Bicep's cross, I'm convinced that an embarassing number of people involved in this process don't actually have a very strong grasp of the law.

Agree. I think I am O.K. with the manslaughter charge if you believe the testimonies about the number of people and length of time he had his knee of Floyd's back. But murder is ridiculous. Chauvin didn't strike me as a great guy, and sure he was maybe negligent, but come on. Floyd killed himself.
