Two from you in a row, and not one from me in between, breaking it up. So far - this has been a troubling trip through Citadelphia. How can we thrive as an alternative to mainstream social media - if we can' generate traffic without being just like them? 

I try. People are so content on the mainstream social media sites. If I could figure out how to get them HERE, I'd still have MINE up, I suppose.

I'm sure you have all heard the FCC last month banned all 'new models of foreign made consumer routers', even if they are not an actual risk "they were not made here, so buzz off" "oh, and we wont take what you have you can still use them". What they didn't blatantly announce is the  other 1/2 of this ruling.  Next March, they are going to mandate a block on firmware updates.  So in effect putting millions at risk.

And of course there are ways around getting to the updates if you know how ( but most wont ), so perhaps another angle to clamp down on VPNs.

...and id expect soon after:  "they are at risk so ISPs must block their use" "you can rent approved ones from your ISP" So even home built ones, gone.

And on that wonderful note, im gone  ( oh, and more of my music went up on you tube recently.. using v1.5 of the generation engine )

I am sure was a bad actor or 2 out there as there always is, but that isn't cause to ban all of it, from everywhere but 'here' ( which have the same issues, you have malicious actors here too, and incompetent boobs ).  Just ID the vendors, ban them. Or even if you want to go there, an entire country ( which i think is stupid too ). But target the actual threat, not a blanket over the entire industry..

And banning updates in a year for everything ...  just sets us up for a digital disaster unless they ban use at the ISP level. 

Personally i think its just more 'kick back for lobbyists' than any real security threat. its government, its NEVER honest and always is about feeding the machine. Always, follow the money.

Let's all keep making noise and never stop.  We are a post-racism society except when people like the SPLC need to manufacture racism.  Race is a proxy for class but is still textbook marxism.

I think the Proud Boys are real. Everything I know about them indicates they're NOT a white supremacist group. They're a bunch of Neanderthals looking for a fight - but they don't care what color your skin is if you want to bust heads with them.

They could be. I think they're just a bunch of hooligans looking for brawls and AntiFA makes a good opponent.

It is so difficult to know - which I guess is the point/goal. 

These days ( and for a long time ), everything is funded by some group towards their personal agenda.  Everything.  I don't think we have seen 'spontaneous events' for generations. 

Always follow the money.

Yes. All of it. But I've also read essays that say that is the goal. When you trust no one, you're more easily controlled. They don't care if you don't trust "them", as long as you don't trust their opposition, either. They win.
