RUSH is going on tour again!

Anika Nilles will be on drums, and they're going to bring on a keyboard player as well.

I'm sure there is zero chance of most people getting tickets, but I look forward to seeing a bootleg video.

Was never really a fan, but it was 'ok'.

Got a free ticket to go to see them in market square back in the late 80s ( now its apartments. grrr ) and i ended up getting a seat 2 feet from the strobes.  I wasn't able to see straight for days.

BandMaid acoustic show streaming today..   With luck it hits the 'networks' soon afterward. 

They have their moments and do some really good work, but in general far too K-pop for me on a regular basis ( and why i'm not a club member to get to listen today ), but i feel that their acoustic stuff is really good. 

 

And really wish Misa would do some solo work. 

Not band related ( unless you count the band i was in back in high school ) - but looks like my instruments, and supporting gear, get to be part of the 2026 purge.

 

Band related - My bot put out another album this weekend. Out on YT.

Due to a joke at work ( domain related ), just found out Garbage has a new album out.. I never ever expected that  ( nor did i expect the band to have been able to reserve "garbage.com" )

Ordered it in about 15 seconds.. 

And .... its not great. not bad and is listenable but not their greatest work either. 

Did you see that Garbage attacked one of their #1 fans for a Volleyball - and it appears to be very much the same as TDS - except - for the lead singer of Garbage - it is Volleyball Derangement Syndrome? 

Why is the Left so hostile that when you can't attack the other side, you eat yourself? 

I mean - the Right is doing that right now too... with Candace Owens and Turcker Carlson vs. Ben Shapiro. Why do we fight one another when we have run out of enemies without to hate?

Except in very rare occasions, I avoid looking at the personal lives of artists.  I'm not trying to be their friends, only consume their product.        Sure sometimes its so in your face you cant avoid it, but i don't go looking for it.

She behaved very poorly. I'm not a fan - but the way she treated a fan who is a VERY dedicated fan made me go, "why would anyone care about this band?" 
Girl punk/grunge - has never really done it for me. I dig Joan Jett - the Runaways in general... a couple other girl bands in hardcore genres - but mostly, they should stick to shit like the GoGos and Bangles. 

 

Those would be considered pop for the hard core fans of real girrl music. And yes, at times Garbage got a bit close to pop for people like me, but i still like them a lot when they weren't, and always was a fan. ( again, their music, not worried about their personal lives ).  And i do get why bands like this veer over to more 'generally acceptable' music at times: They gotta eat.. But ill often just skip over those albums and stick with the good ones.

You wouldn't like 80% of what i listen to i bet :)    Ill have to post out my 'daily driver' album list again sometimes.

Ok so i had a bit of free time before today's road trip.  2 small files are attached here

song sampler.csv        - A very short list of some songs i put out on my server for my sister recently. Let her sample some new-to-her stuff.    Its based off the next file, but i pulled out some of the more representative songs for the bands. ( and might have missed a couple. )

 

daily driver.csv           - This is the stripped down album set of my full collection, and is what i carry around with me on a daily basis to listen to. I have more back "at home" of course but this is more than enough to get by while driving around, or walking the dogs out at the river. I have some bands i listen to at home that are not on here, as they would never work in the jeep or car, too quiet to hear it over the road/wind noise. Really, even something like Mazzy Star is pushing it.         ( not that it matters, my mp3 player actually has 2 storage units, one is this list to make it easy, and the other has the other ~400g of mp3s if i ever wanted to send to headphones if was still at the office or something, but the jeep and car only have the 'short' list. Of course at home, its mostly flac of the same list.  but mobile, mp3 format is more than good enough. )

 

Doubt you like but 1% of it, but you are welcome anyway and i want a full report on my desk by Monday morning.. lol

Looking at the cover, i think i need to sue. Going with the image and the title, i think they stole my 'magic octopus' concept.
