Subject: tuts or wiki on restore from backup

Hello guys,

Could someone please point me in the right direction for a tutorial or wiki on how to restore the database directory from a normal backup. I have found wiki on exporting, importing, backups, repair, etc but I can't find any mention on how to restore from backups. I need to restore the database from a week old backup (copied the whole data directory after shutting dowm citadel) after suffering a disk failure. Thanks.

I have posted it there but the support room looks pretty quiet (support wise) . Please don't get me wrong but have you guys decided to stop supporting citadel?

The project is built, maintained, and supported by volunteers. If you want support to be deliered in minutes you are probably in the wrong place.

FYI

There is a major hardware failure of some sort at DogPound2 Citadel.
Until 'freakdog' gets home (Jul 20) networking thru to Cascade node is broken.

Just in case anyone was wondering...

The new job is a four-person IT department at a community bank - we all get along with each other, not super-critical, not into politics. It's like work is a vacation.

 

I'm also doing the things I enjoy doing, which I hadn't in my last job for two years (when they went all "open office plan" and "Entrepreneur Operating System" bullshit). I learned a lot in my old job, but prior to two years ago, I didn't have to interact with my boss - then I did and man did it go downhill. Now I love my boss and love my job. 

 

I didn't know how stressed I was until I got this and the stress lifted. Wow.
