He is gone. At least I could be the last days with him. He helped me beat Wipeout from the sofa. I think he passed away peacefully and with no suffering. He hadn't eaten or drunk anything in a week but we had it connected to a saline solution bottle most of the day so he didn't get dehidrated or anything.
Now my problem is horses know I feel like shit. I always try to leave my problems at the horseyard gate but mares always know. The issue is their way of helping consists in horsekissing me harder than usual, which actually makes me feel better, but now I have a collection of blue marks.
Asgard is Brent Barrett - he is related to Craig, of Intel CEO fame. Actually a friend of mine - we were connected on Facebook and he checked into my Citadel for a while. Haven't heard from him in a few years - but haven't heard anything. Gary and Charles Meadows are still alive, or at least one of them, I think. They did a bunch of the 916 forks of Citadel.
We actually have a Sacramento Citadel group on Facebook. Zero traffic. I think we all realized the reason we stopped talking on BBSes wasn't just the arrival of Usenet and the internet - but also because we didn't have a lot more to say to one another.
Maybe Asgard86 isn't Brent - maybe it is Gary and Charles Meadows. Anyhow, I've asked about all 3 of them.

Here for a while there have been attack issues with https.
When i cant get in, i drop back to port 80 and it works. ( aside from the issues a few weeks ago due to the network provider )

No, it didn't know anything and would have welcomed you home, had it been able to.
The power was out for a couple of hours last night. Remember, we're not hosted in The Clown. It's running from my house so when the power goes out so does Uncensored. Thankfully that hardly ever happens here, but we had ridiculous high winds last night and a power line came down.

I never had the opportunity to meet most of them, having spent my early days here in the northeast. I had the pleasure of hanging out online with Vince (K2NE) and the pain of dealing with Farokh (Citadel-286). But I also got to hang out with some of the folks from OSUNY (the real one, not the impostor).
Regrettably we only caught the final year or two of the network.

So I spoke to Gary Meadows - he and Charles are both still alive and they wrote Asgard 86. No one seems to have seen Brent in a while - but that may just mean he isn't on Facebook.

And related, this weekend just wired up another 10 batteries to my solar setup. AND got another generator.
I think i mentioned my big one didn't start at the pre-winter quarterly run.. and its been too cold/wet to deal with it. Gotta drag it out of the box. put wheels on it, get into the garage so i can take it apart and see what is up ( i suspect the oil sensor died.. so it wont let it start ). So picked up a "portable" 2500 watt one, just in case we lose power this winter, and could come in handy this spring since it can be moved around easily and supposed to be really quiet. We had those same high winds.. made me a bit nervous.. so went shopping.
