What a waste of bacon fat.

Well, if you really want the bacon fat, here it is:

You can have some if you want, but it's mixed with a bunch of other fats at this point.

I really really really liked the book. Read it several years ago. Read it before the movie came out and am now listening to Wesley Crusher reading the book.

The movie was fun. It was entertaining.. But it wasn't the book.

One convenient thing about that title is that they won't have to spend any time deciding what to call the sequel.

Sequel? That would be Game Over.

As always, I wish I'd watched the movie before reading the book. The movie is fun. The book is fun plus depth.

So my sister and I wrote and published a book.

Well, she wrote 2 books, and then we wrote the third together.

there's an activity book you can download free, if you have young people around you'd like to share it with.)

Good luck. Seriously.

A piece of advice. Don't get heavily emotionally invested in the project.

Happy selling!

Of course we're invested,, but we're ok with it not being a bestseller :)

What I mean is that you have to be passionate when writing it, then sell it like a used car salesman. I don't know if that makes sense to you.

Subject: Gaining fans for the books you write.

You know, I was reading an article about how small authors and artists can husband very small amounts of fans (say, 1000) into making a living out of them, telling you that life is glorious and beautiful and making a living out of art is easy.

What they never mention is how you are supposed to make 1000 fans to begin with.

And don't bring social media forth. That thing only works if you have fans to begin with.

How is the book doing?

I have some manuscripts sent to evaluation to a bunch of publishers, some which have a high probablility of getting a deal :) The only problem I have now is that I am cranking less text as of late because my proofreaders are burning out slowly.

I've got several hundred "followers" down from a high of over 1000 when I was writing for Tech Republic.

Having "fans" and being able to monetize them are two entirely different things.

I'm like Linux... I'm very popular, as long as I am free.

What do y'all think of Stella Artois?   I'm drinking one now.  Seems like a middle-of-the-road beer that's neither outstanding nor awful.  I'm not an advanced beer drinker so I like beers that go down easy.  And now I'm tipsy because I have the alcohol tolerance of a field mouse especially when my stomach is empty.

Stella used to be the affordable Budweiser-style European beer that savvy US Bud drinkers would buy when in Europe. Now, Anheuser-Busch actually OWNS Stella, which makes it literally Europe's Budweiser - and they're a woke company.

Ironically - Stella became popular in the States because sophisticated European travelers (but not TOO sophisticated, because they were Domestic Bud drinkers,) like myself went to Europe - (where Budweiser is a premium import that locals drink to show THEY'RE sophisticated Europeans who have American tastes) - and on returning home, they bought Stella as an *import* to show their friends in the US they had developed exotic European tastes.

Kind of like why Red Stripe is popular - having a "taste" for it also telegraphs that you've travelled to exotic and/or expensive destinations.

They're all pretty much the same. Piss beer that tastes more or less like a Sprite. I don't have anything against that - they're light, refreshing, and you can pound quite a few of them without getting belligerently drunk. They're great for drinking from a cooler on a hot summer day by the water.
