She has been sick since Friday. Fever, no interest in food, very subdued, but still getting around. Just could tell she didnt feel well.

Finally got into the vet today ( they are soooo busy for non-emergency its not funny ). We expected some sort of bug she caught at day care, but she also had what we all thought was a simple 'hot spot'.   Vet wanted to shave the small area that she had been chewing on to help it heal as it was matted, just to find this instead. . major skin infection, which is what was making her sick in the first place.

had to sedate her to shave it. i could hear her yelping down the hallway when they first tried, thinking it was minor :(     Dont like that sound, from any animal but especially when you know its yours.  I dont know how i could tell, but i knew.  Just like her fever. i could not tell you how, but i knew she had one, and that this was not just a typical dog upset stomach Friday..

Guess im sleeping on the floor with her tonight.  Hope i can still move in the morning :)

I had a dog like that - my wife was frequently jealous of her. I mean, she was a good sport about it - but she thought me and the dog were way too smitten with one another. :)

Same thing, when she was yelping in the vets, I could tell it was her. Recognized her "voice". The couple of times she was sick, I got an air mattress and slept down on the floor by her side.

Sorry this happened to your dog. I get it.

I thought about the air mattress we have, but it wont fit in the computer room easily ( long story of why we had to do it there, dogs dont get along, cats roam at night which she gets testy with. bla bla ). Plus always the chance she gets on it and punches a hole in it.

Rough night tho, i'm beat. Floor is hard.  May have her sleep in her kennel tonight, or i'm going to try the couch and let her stay in the living room. ( but, run into cat problems that way ).

My other dog is really confused, normally she sleeps with me. has for almost a decade.

We have a cushion-like matress made of some plastic component. It is an extremely soft cushiony thingy. The dogs love it. We got it for a sick dog back in the day and it was worth around 120 bucks. Totally worth it. Bonus points because it is not an inflatable, so they can't pierce it rhough and ruin it.

I think the cushion was for Nurb, though. :)

Might be worth going and getting something like a pool floaty - basically a smaller, thinner air cushion sounds better than the floor.

They are making them a favor.

College degrees are useful for getting jobs at fast food chains only, so it is only good if they kick you out.

Bleh. Fever today. Feel like poo. Been in bed all afternoon.

Arm isn't bad tho, a little bit sore at the spot of injection but that is about it.. So i guess its a trade-off.

We do know that colleges have required mandatory vaccination for... like, decades, right?

Not that i have heard of. And definitely not for the flu.

And at least if they do, its approved medications.   this covid stuff is still experimental and only reason we are getting it is due emergency decree.

You have to provide vaccination records to get your kid into primary and secondary school.

Flu shots are generally highly encouraged, provided free, and tend to be "recognized" - kind of like blood drives - with "virtue awards" to encourage participation.

I get the point you're trying to make - but that is the way of split hairs and subjective reasoning on the severity or lack thereof of the virus.

Both sides are going to do that shit. I mean - if you're affected by the decision, and you're uncertain of the vaccine - you have the agency to refuse the virus and take a gap year, find online courses, choose other alternatives.

Yes, but we were talking colleges :)

I know i did not have to cough up ( no pun intended ) anything when i went to college. Other than cash. Lots of cash.

That was exactly the way I felt after my 2nd shot. Absolutely a hard-to-explain "I feel a litte bit like I am not yet sick, but might be coming down with a fever soon" sort of feeling.

It wasn't horrible or anything, and it passed after about 3 hours, but it was distracting enough to my mental focus that I went and lied down for a bit.

I haven't been paying much attention to the Rebekah Jones saga, one way or the other, until recently.

Turns out she's a total fraud...
