Sure, they will get sued and eventually shut down like last time, but during the potential decades long process i suspect they will let the law stand "for safety". Then when it is eventually struck down, they will just do it again, and again, a 'virtual' win, for them.
Its also a gamble that perhaps in 20 years during its 2nd or 3rd trip to SCOTUS, there will be new judges and they hope even less supportive of rights than they are now. But since they have unlimited funds, they have nothing to lose anyway.
Its why the left push the 'its about hunting' nonsense. No, our founders wanted us to have the same exact resources the government has ( funding aside.. most of us cant afford a fancy new tank.. but should still have the right to do so ). But, they know this, just dont care and keep the FUD program moving to brainwash the masses.

People think I'm being hyperbolic when I assert that those who support banning guns need to be shot.
It isn't hyperbole. It's the truth. We are at war with people who want us dead and defenseless.
I mean - that is civil war. It is maybe inevitable at this point, and you'll get banned on most mainstream social media for even hinting at advocating for that.
I myself do not think we'll vote ourselves out of this mess. I think a lot of blood will have to be spilled - not just in the US. In Germany, France, the UK, most of Northern Europe, France. I think Italy may be ok. But it is going to involve the Middle East and probably Asia and the Pacific Rim.
People worry about a civil war in the US. I think we're tipping towards WW3 - and it won't be a nuclear holocaust, unless Iran is way ahead of where we think it is. It'll be a traditional land war. The world won't look the same on the other side - and YOUR side of the country may not be MY side of the country when it is done, and we might not both consider ourselves members of the same nation, either.
Which is kinda sad.
Europe is gone, except for Poland. If you go to England, France, Sweden, etc. you might as well be in Pakistan. It's too late for them. It's not too late for us, and as I've been saying for decades, I think it's the good-ole-boys who will save the US, not the policymakers.
I travel to Europe a lot. I've been very vocal about my opinions on England and London - even have a St. George Cross as my profile pic. I've got a feeling there may be hassles the next time I find myself going through customs in Heathrow. They're basically an actual fascist state now where they will lock you up for expressing opinions.
