Was out and about yesterday to visit my mother.  Even more destruction of farmland and fields. Every time i leave the house it pisses me off more and more.  I need to move.

You could drive around and not have to worry about being hit by idiots, or endless lines at the ( too many ) stop lights. Go to the grocery get your stuff and leave.. not fight with crowds in your way.  Could walk to the park and not hear endless tires on the 'main' road.

Of course all the mom-pop stores are long gone, and you only saw buildings as you drive around instead of trees and crops, but it was still nice to at least remember sort of what it was like.

We went to a trendy nightclub/restaurant this weekend in downtown Chandler. It looked like Downtown Reno or the Old Las Vegas strip, it was so crowded. The kind of place you go to not be able to hear the person across the table from you, while eating gastro-pub food served by vapid Millennial waitresses before they become Jr. Congresswomen - but it is really an excuse to get shitfaced on Microbrews and cocktails. 

I told my wife, "I liked coming down here more when everyone was home afraid."

I dont have that luxury, if the office says 'we all go back' i have to go back. I'm not independently wealthy, not old enough to retire so i still have to work for a living.

Of course some teams got sent home to work permanent.  Few of us really need to be there.

My siblings and I are close - I haven't seen my brothers since June when our uncle died. 
I really miss them. Fortunately, my parents, aunt, brothers, and sisters-in-law have had the first dose of the vaccine. 
My sister and I are waiting our turn (likely another 2-3 weeks) 

It'll be so nice to be able to hug everyone again!

Oh, i like my family well enough and do visit them often, its just that i dont like formal gatherings.

Hmm, it seems you are correct. A bit more Googling reveals that the distance limitation of DS3 is 225 feet when using 26 gauge coax, and 450 feet when 20 gauge.

Thank goodness those days are over. :) As a data center operator I can attest that almost nobody orders DS3 circuits anymore. There are a few niche areas, such as channelized voice-based applications that haven't been moved to SIP yet, but even those are on their way out. And *absolutely* nobody orders unchannelized DS3 for data carriage anymore.

These days it's all metro ethernet. T1's are still around for the poor sods who are stuck in unlit buildings, of course.

Sadly, one of my clients is living testament that indeed, some people - even some businesses - order DS3 circuits.   Ridiculous.

The real administrator of this site just haphazardly knocks it down for maintenance whenever he wants to.  Uptime is for people who have nothing better to do :)
